    unknown vintage Lux

Wow... I would hazard a guess that LUX never sold in the US? Kevin

    New to the forum

I find.... it interesting that so many of you who collect vacuums, collect fans as well. I never got the urge-strange...even though I've fixed many a fan. The older ones are quite beautiful and came in many decorative colors! I DO collect clocks and vintage hi-fi gear. The hi-fi stuff is my...

    Golden J Power Nozzle Question

Ditto..... I too had the same trouble with the PN 2 and at some point it just separated. Great pic of the little clip! I still have to polish the top and put mine back together.;-) Kevin

    Electrolux Model S on eBay

Relegated.... to a small town, we just don't see these things here. I've only seen one G in this town and I bought it. I comb the thrift stores routinely (actually, we're down to one thrift) and garage sales. In all the yrs at garage/yard sales, I've never seen a LUX. Seems the LUX salesman...

    3 more "thrifty" finds

Wow..... that Rexair brings back memories. It was the only vacuum as a kid that scared me. I was sure it was doing things on its own at night, from its lair in the closet.;-) I have ZERO desire to collect one of those-pity. Kevin

    Golden J Resto Done!!!

Beautiful; love the anniversary stickers that seem to match! Kevin

Really...although a bit of an unusual intro, I didn't get that. I hope you're wrong.:-( Kevin

    My latest thrift store finds

"I love the dual power connections on the 1205." That is cool. It would also indicate that you have an earlier 1205. Later on they dropped the external PN connection and did it just through the hose. I found this out the hard way (had to buy a hose just for the 1205's). But the later models...

    Vac Virgin

If..... you're looking for one brand; LUX, LUX AND LUX!!!! Just kidding....lots of great old vacuum brands out there. Some folks even prefer the really old stuff; 30-40's. Except for the really rare stuff, the prices are agreeable at present. And there's always the possibility of finding...

    Vac Virgin

    And..... from Canada!

    Vac Virgin

You might.... decide (for now), if you want a canister model or upright model. That could guide you on what you want to collect. Not all the vacuums we admired as kids were all that great. I used to admire those non-electric, friction push vacuums. I doubt I'd ever have one now unless I had a...

    Vac Virgin

Hmmmmm..... welcome Andrew! I have a son by that name.;-) I guess it depends; "first vac". Are you asking about our first vacuum once on our own, or what we remember as boys (girls too!)? My first purchased vacuum was for my very first apt in college which had carpets. It was and upright...

    My latest thrift store finds

The 1205 just looks dirty....wonder how it will 'clean up'?? That clinches it....I'm going to start stalking the thrift shop here. Kevin

    polishing the housings

Mother's MA polish. I've always just used elbow grease and a rag, but I don't see why it couldn't be done on a buffing wheel to save some time. Kevin

    Electrolux model G

Interesting..... comment on the 535 watt motor. I actually transferred my 'race horse' G motor to the canister in the best condition. Knowing the original owner (now deceased), it's very possible he put a newer tan G motor in there. I can't find any reason (so far) that my other G motor is less...

    Electrolux model G

So........ given all that, how long was the turquoise G made before they switched to tan? I guess I've always seen the turquoise models after '62. All the PN's I have, have the cleanout and the circuit breaker. Kevin

    electrolux g

I have that same Owner's Manual, but paid more than "$2" for it! Kevin

    Electrolux model G

"Oh well, dosent really matter,,the Model G is an awsome cleaning machine no matter how it is! Definatly Electrolux at its best!" Well it does really matter when one is trying to get a perspective on model runs and the differences. Especially since I was told the turquoise Jetson G's are the...

    Electrolux model G

Hmmmm..... Never seen the bumper before....I'm pretty sure the two G's I have are the original cord and molded ends. They are identical and two more that I was offered are exactly the same-no cord bumper; molded plugs. And all of the G's that I've seen have the PN socket just forward of the...
