    Vacuum display at Target

landfills Landfills are so old-school and primitive in this neck of the woods.  Plasti-vacs don't get buried here, they get incinerated!  By law, all trash haulers here are required to take what they collect to a resource reclamation facility where it is sorted to remove things like steel etc...

    Vacuum display at Target

Target I used to work for a division of Target Corp, and everything in the company is according "to plan,"  From how products are merchandised on the shelves, to which stores carry a full-line or selected lineup.  From the day products are added to their list of offerings there is a plan for...

    Vacuum display at Target

I remember making a bee-line for the vacuum aisle whenever I went to Target to see the latest Hoover Convertibles, Dialamatic, Portable, or the General Electric uprights and swivel-top canister.  I look at what's on display now and just shake my head.  Some of these new bagless vacs are so big...

    Miele Platinum on ebay

Patrick, the Miele I had was an S314i if I remember correctly.  I used the Intensive Clean bags in it.  Prior to getting the Miele, an Electrolux was usually my most often-used vacuum.

    Miele Platinum on ebay

I would love, love, LOVE to have a Miele again.  The one I had stayed with my ex, since it was the easiest for him to learn how to operate.  That was bar-none the best vacuum I have ever owned.  I bought it solely for the sealed hepa filtration when my allergies are acting up but instantly fell...

Hoover Model H for sale on Wausau Craigslist

That looks like a model 700 or 725 maybe?  The vacuum has a Dustest brand replacement bag which has "The H Deluxe" printed on it.  The seller mistakenly thought that was the model of the vacuum.

Anyone know anything about this "rare vintage" HPPOS?

Isn't that made by the same company that makes the "pig" commercial vacuums?  I seem to recall seeing one in a shop once that sells a lot of commercial type vacs.

Ben, that mixer is wonderful, and I had a countertop exactly like that in my first house!

    Kirby model 512 parts needed.

Congratulations on a great find, Ron!   The cord is the only major thing that isn't original.   The one you have is from a 60's era Sanitronic.  The orginal cord would have been shorter, grey, and the machine end had a round plug rather than flat.  Finding a cord and a grey bumper is going to be...

    my Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80

Don't waste a minute... Bag that bag on ebay!  The only replacement bags available from Kirby anymore are plain black.  Once the green ones are gone, they're GONE!   Back in 1968 the mother of a friend of mine got a Dual 80.  That vacuum was half the reason Wayne and I were best friends!

    I just got Roto-maticized!

Original right down to the Belden cord and plug.  This baby is a cleaning machine!  The motor runs soooooo smoothly and quietly, all you hear is the rush of air.

    I just got Roto-maticized!

I found this on craigslist last night and just couldn't resist.  According to the guy I bought it from for $5 it was in his grandmother's livingroom until just recently and hasn't been used since 1960!

That's the episode I've been wanting to see again ever since the last Hazel thread here months ago!  I was GLUED to the TV when it aired originally.  Is it on youtube?

Beautiful Eureka "canned ham" on ebay

How does a vibra beat work? It's the same principle as a brass player's lips vibrating while blowing into the instrument.   As the vacuum's suction pulls air between the rubber strips in the nozzle they buzz and vibrate.  It's a nice theory but in reality if the rug is any heavier/thicker than...
