    Another Convertible Rescue

John, that is a bit of fun history! I had no idea that Hoover made that many changes in one model. You are right, mine must be an '85. It has the 4-position height adjustment & bottom-fill bag. I thought it looked like it might have a type A bag when I first spied it,but it's good ol type C. I...

    Another Convertible Rescue

Found this at a rummage sale this weekend. Couldn't pass it up even though I had just acquired my Penncrest Convertible (posted in a previous thread). It was a steal at $5 & is in really good condition. Cleaned her up & put in a fresh bag & belt & she's as good as new.

    Penncrest Convertible

Previous Penncrest Thread David, you are right, the bumper does go all the way around the body. John, can't wait to see the pics of yours! I will have to research the previous thread & check out all the details. Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

    Penncrest Convertible

Gareth, I like how you think! I do need a larger place, as that is the only option I think LOL Bill, thank you & I also think it must be rare. This is the first Penncrest I have ever seen around here or in person for that matter I think.

    Penncrest Convertible

This is what followed me home today from a rummage sale. A model A131 Penncrest Convertible. I have too many vacs for my space. But I could not pass this up since I don't ever see the Penncrest version of the Convertible around. She was filthy, cleaned her up a bit, but she still has a long way...

    Used Vacs in your house?

I always take used bags out & discard outside & blow out loose crap in my trash dumpster. I like to take apart most of my vacs to the extent I can & clean & disinfect as well as possible inside & out. To me that's the fun especially finding a treaure that is really dirty & restoring it to almost...

    Dirt Devil Broom Vac

Belt I know there was some discussion on another thread of this question. However so far I have not had the belt come off. I do believe if it is twistred the correct way when installed, it should stay put just fine. There is a diagram next to the belt showing which way it should twist & this...

    Dirt Devil Broom Vac

Ian, I like the look too! Cody,I wanted one when they were new back in the day. I had the hand vac, but this was a little out of my price range at the time. The peformance is not bad. I like the lil guy! Ran it around here & it does a good job for it's size. I was surprised to find when I took...

    Dirt Devil Broom Vac

Latest thrift store score. In great shape, cleaned up nicely. Wishing I would have bought the attachments I saw for this model at our local Goodwill a couple months back.

    dyson + hammer =

Well said Gareth Gareth you hit the nail on the head! I have often thought that same thing. Some of us have put up with too much s@#t over the years because of our passion for vacuums. We don't need it here. "Considering that most of us faced some form of persecution because of our fondness of...

Latest finds... Electrolux Intensity and ErgoRapido

Intensity I was just looking at a couple of those for sale on Ebay. I've always thought it's a curios design. I wondered how well it cleans. Eventually may have to try & score one of those too!

    Sanyo Transformax

Heya Canadian Brian! Thanx for the additional info pics & video link. So, I am guessing that mine must have had a clip on the wand that has since went missing along w/ the dusting brush. Maybe someday I will run across one. I do think its quiet. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I...

    **DUMPSTER FIND-Hoover WindTunnel V2**

Gary, thanks for the reply with all the info regarding model history & the brushroll setup. I really enjoyed learning. I did notice that some of the bristles on my brushrolls are touching. It didn't seem as though they should mash against each other anywhere along the rolls. I wonder if maybe...

    Sanyo Transformax

Consumer Reports Brian, thanks for the info about the Cosumer Reports article on it. I am not surprised that they ranked it top stick vac. It does a decent job.It does have the crevice tool with it, its stowed on the back of the handle, not visible in the pic. I wasn't aware that there was also...
