Kirby Heritage II Legend handle leaning forward

Generally if the handle tension assembly is broken on powering up the Kirby the handle tends to fling backwards as there's no spring tension, If this happens check the locking slot of the handle assembly has not broken off (blue arrow on photo) it could also be that the spring itself inside has...

Thinking of buying a Kirby and conflicted between models

In my opinion the heritage/legend series machines are the best Kirby models produced they were simple, rugged, with great performance. I think the Generation series (Avilar) machines are less manoeuvrable than the older machines but the latest Avilar is a fantastic machine. like all Kirby's it's...

    Just got this Kirby

Yeah that's pretty much the same way I used to do it before I purchased the tool, he does though make it look very easy in that video by only adding a small amount of tension on it, Also I've found by anchoring the motor shell helps too so it's not moving about whilst you do this, I usually just...

    Just got this Kirby

Scudo, Excellent purchase and it's looking fantastic so far on the restoration work, As for the Handle Spring Yoke you're probably going have to purchase a new yoke, I've had plenty of these break in the past and I've tried to bodge them up myself but they always fail soon after with it being...

    Private-Label Kirby Cleaners?

Blimey not seen Mr Mom in about 30 year's I remember watching it as a little boy and for a time afterwards giving me nightmares, we had a similar looking Heritage Kirby I used to think it was going to have a mind of it's own, chase me around the house and suck me up just like the one in Mr Mom...

    Kirby fan change question...

I have done it exactly the same way Mat many times and I've had no problems what so ever, If you ever need to replace it again in the future, any decent pair of mole grips should loosen of the belt shaft if your bending the nail.

Cracked Fan in my Kirby Heritage

It most probably was bad luck I have started using my Girlfriends Miele cylinder vac for the car and other areas where there's the possibility of large foreign objects, I agree with you on replacing the fan being a easy chore to do, in fact If I had to replace a fan at all I'd rather it be on a...

Cracked Fan in my Kirby Heritage

I read somewhere or about a salesman that used a coin as a fan/pickup test on Demo's I was amazed after reading this because once the fan on my Sentria got destroyed after accidentally hoovering up a coin, Obviously I try to avoid any large heavy objects going up any Kirby that I have so when...

Cracked Fan in my Kirby Heritage

Ben, I had another lexan fan go in a similar way, In fact it wasn't so long ago, This was in Hose configuration and I wasn't even actually using it when it broke. I had left it running (hose draped over bag topper) whilst I moved some furniture around and whilst doing it I heard that horrible...

    Kirby Heritage II noise

Some early Heritage 2 models were produced with the Extended-larger Heritage 1 nozzle So I don't think that would be the cause of the noise, Like Ben said try replacing the rug plate gasket, also look to see if the two locking lugs for the rug plate are tight and that there is no movement in the...

All ready to go, I'm Really impressed with flitz polish does a great job. I used the Kirby not long afterwards and its a great machine it's quieter than my other Legend two and seems to pick up a lot better so this will be my daily driver from now on.
