Thanks Lesinutah
I like your price estimate for a Kirby R.
I want to buy one someday.
My budget can handle $500. On the other hand, $18,000 is my entire life savings.
Words of hope and encouragement
Thanks guys for your info, photo and words of wisdom.
I may take up a foreign language or needlepoint while I wait for one of my "dream" vacuums to show up on my doorstep.
I want to buy an S & F vacuum (late 1920s to early 1930s).
Will pay top dollar.
A Sott & Fetzer machine is one of only two machines on my wish list.
After seeing a posting last week of a beautifully restored S & F machine I had to give this posting a try.
I may not find one that is...
Slow and gentle
It must have taken a couple of hours to vacuum one room -- and probably only removed half of the dust and lint.
But it sure has "cute" factor.
This Kirby model c is a very pretty restoration.
I hope to acquire a couple of restored vintage vacuums in 2024 that are on my wish list.
I may also try to buy some polishing tools and try my luck on a couple of vintage vacuums in my collection.
Thanks Edgar for your reply
When I posted my wanted ad for a vintage Kirby power cord (or at least the female plug of the cord) I did not realize they are difficult to find. Even a generic round female plug or a vintage extension cord with old plugs is hard to find.

The Vacuette wireless bag may be my favorite of all vintage vacuum bags.
It reminds me of the RKO Pictures logo.
I don't know whether it is transmitting electric waves, radio waves or vacuum waves -- but it speaks to me.
