    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Fan housings I took the entire motor apart and had the armature in my hand. Everything is spic and span now. And get this! It still works!

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

I did it I am in the process of tearing apart my Rainbow (CAREFULLY). I am taking lots of pictures, so it lessens the chance of me screwing up. I'm just going to take the fan housings apart and clean all the crust out and put it back together.

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

I did a little more research on the Rainbow date codes, and I have determined that it was made the 2nd quarter of 2006. April, May, or June. It is acting ever so slightly strange, though. When I use it on the low speed, after about five minutes, it starts sounding strange. It's hard to explain...

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Rebuilding I have decided that I'm going to completely take apart and clean the Rainbow motor unit. I took a look behind the filter today, and I was appalled by the horrid buildup of dirt. I watched a very well done "how to" video on Youtube, and I believe I'll be able to handle it, no...

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Serial number Doee anybody know how to decipher Rainbow serial numbers? I'd like to know the age of my machine. The bottom three digits are 206 - February 2006?

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Mark, Yes, that is one thing that bothers me about used Rainbows. I did a teardown of my E2 one speed a couple weeks ago, but I only cleaned the interior plastic. I did not go into the motor. I haven't even taken the new two speed apart yet. I would love to clean the fans on this thing, but I...

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Thanks, Tom I know you said that the Rainbow is one of your favorite machines, and I am quickly developing that opinion as well. I cleaned the HEPA filter last night per the manual, and I was disgusted at how dark the water was that came out. It was nearly pitch black the first 10-15 times I...

    EPIC RAINBOW SCORE!

Last night, as I do most nights, I was searching Craigslist for some scores. I always like to search "rainbow vacuum" to see what they're going for. To my great surprise, I saw an E2 Gold two speed for only $150. Right then and there, I called the seller and told him I'd be there at noon...

    Eureka ESP self propelled saved

I got this at a junk shop yesterday for $2.50, 1/10 their asking price. I completely took it apart and cleaned it and when I put it back together, instead of hearing a nice hum, I hear a loud terrible buzz. I'm going to take it apart again and check the carbon brushes. The motor spins fine.

    Hoover 707 belt help!

I spruced up my Hoover 707 that I got in St. Louis last year hoping to use in in my mother's house since she has shag carpet wall to wall. My Rainbow SE has been working excellent with the PN-2, but I wanted to get a little retro. What's more retro than chartreuse? So yesterday, I go to use the...

    Rainbow D3 vibrating badly

I at least made the D3 look better. I took its helmet off and cleaned all the fine dirt out, so now it's clean and clear at least.

    Lux G dumpster find!

I phixed it I took the plug apart, and I discovered that the previous repairman was a slob. The wires were not held on very well at all, the hot was about to come off. I retwisted the copper and wound it around the screws and tightened them down good. I also put a bunch of liquid tape in there...

    Rainbow D3 vibrating badly

Oh yeah, I know what you mean about that. I refuse to tear into any Rainbow older than the E2 one speed. Those are pretty easy. But the older ones are ridiculous! I tore up my old chrome dome because I wasn't paying attention and forgot how it went.

    My rainbow collection grows

Very awesome machine. I'd really love to have a two speed Rainbow - but they're just so expensive! Here is my Rainbow collection.

Rainbow E2 one speed SPA Treatment

Tonight, I treated my 1999 Rainbow E2 to a LONG AWAITED (5 years maybe?) spa treatment. I went to the local Rainbow dealer today and obtained a new separator and nut, and now it runs perfectly. I took the entire case apart, put all the removable plastic pieces into the tub with hot, soapy water...

    Rainbow D3 vibrating badly

Thanks for the offer, But I'm in a finacial hole right now. I can't even afford supper tonight, much less shipping a Rainbow halfway across the country.
