    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

Rob: Thanks for the info on converting a PN-5 to a fixed-wheel format! I did not know that was possible.

    Best Electrolux power nozzle series?

In My Opinion: A PN-2 or a PN-4 does a much better job of hair removal and grooming than the PN-5. The PN-5 has a "floating" feature that is supposed to help the PN adjust to different carpet pile heights automatically. In actual use, what it does is to keep the brushroll from "biting" into...

    Electrolux 1521

Bill: You may never have trouble with that machine. I have a Diamond Jubilee, which, like yours, was a model known for bearing problems. I bought it in a thrift store, and it had been VILELY abused - it was clogged with sand, dirt and dog hair all the way to the end of the hose. The bag felt...

    Used Vacs in your house?

Eric: If you're familiar with working on plastic-bodied appliances, then you'll be fine. Here's a trick I've used with stinky vacs that didn't respond to disassembly and cleaning: You need one of the correct paper bags for your machine, some tape, a small rag and some Febreze. Saturate the...

    Used Vacs in your house?

Rex: I know what you mean. Pregnant women must think they've died and gone to heaven with today's yard sales, but the rest of us aren't finding so much.

    Used Vacs in your house?

Eric: Is the Panasonic a plastic-bodied vac? If it is, it may be a little tricky to disassemble if you want to clean it thoroughly inside. Some plastic vacs have snap-together pieces that are tricky to release without breaking the little tabs that hold them together. Proceed carefully if...

    Used Vacs in your house?

Eric: If you know what you're doing, even a really nasty vacuum can be cleaned up like new - and that means inside as well as out. It's not work you want to do in the house - a garage or workshop is best for the purpose. Complete disassembly, cleaning of every individual component, and...

My model 31 Filter Queen is now complete.

David: Thanks! That kitchen is SO "Mildred Pierce." If it were mine, I would probably spend my days in it making pies to sell to neighbors and nearby restaurants. :-)

Great Electrolux Vacuums. Who has a great picture?

Tyler: Really beautiful, pristine-looking 1205! I have an aqua sheath for my PNs (thanks again for helping with my PN-2), but not the aqua cords you do. I do believe I detect signs of kitty friends at your house, LOL!

    Original Cord vs. Replacement Cord

Gareth: I will take your word for it! I have little taste for experimenting with electricity; my dad worked with it in his job (television repair, back in the '50s and '60s, when high voltage ruddy well MEANT high voltage), and I saw him get shocked a few times. Sorry you've had the same...

    Original Cord vs. Replacement Cord

Gareth: Well, of course, electricity is more dangerous where you are, being, I understand, 220-240v. That's like the U.K. - their current will weld you to the wall if something goes wrong. American/Canadian 110v current is not quite as dangerous, but still something for which one should have...

    Original Cord vs. Replacement Cord

To Me.... ....This is a "now and later" issue. If a cord has fraying or exposed wire, then of course I replace it. If an exact match isn't available, then I use whatever is the correct gauge, and worry about a match later. One of the nice things about replacing cords is, it's usually an...

    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

Kevin: "I have no idea how you prepped the surface." For once, you have made a statement with which I cannot possibly disagree. You have NO IDEA. Yet you make other statements that are variations on "I'm right - you're wrong." I would appreciate it if in future, you simply didn't respond to...

I Don't Know.... ....Enough about Filter Queens to add anything meaningful to the discussion, but OH, how I love that kitchen!

    Bearing Size for Golden J?

Hello All: Does anyone know the correct bearing size(s) for the motor on an Electrolux Golden Jubilee? One of my friends here in Waterloo has one with a bearing problem, and of course, putting the machine back into good shape is a priority. Thank you for any help you can offer!

    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

Kevin: I am well acquainted with Krylon Fusion. It works fine on many things, but it does not repeat not repeat NOT work well on something that gets bumped a great deal, as a PN does. I made that mistake, trying to turn a turquoise PN-1 hood into a white one. It was a disaster of - you...

    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

Phillip: Those early Ls in the off-white/turquoise combination are one of my favorite Luxes, and they are not easy to come by complete, with all the correct white/turquoise tools and white/turquoise PN. If yours is in good shape, you have a real treasure.

    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

Justin: Just get a PN-1 or PN-2 for your 1205. Your PN-5 will chip if you paint it, since its housing is plastic. You'll also like the earlier PNs better, since they don't have that silly "floating" feature the PN-5 does; they "bite" the carpet better and groom it quite well. Also, the PN-5...
