Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

Any experience with the Sainitaire TRADITION SC688B? A no frills vac built just for carpet with commercial motor. Makes me think this could be a good fit for a basement rec room (even though the kids have grown up… maybe grand kids in the future?).

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

... BTW, I used to own a Sebo Felix (that the ex wife now has) and while there are some good things about that vac, I was not fond of the balance, with it being particularly top heavy... also wished it had a headlight.

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

The U1 upright is not only heavy, but takes a fair amount of effort to push/pull on carpet. I think the Kenmore Ultimate takes equal effort. While the Kirby is heavy, I understand there is some level of mechanical assist when pushing/pulling... is this true? I like a canister vac if having...

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

Thanks for the input. Let me stew on it. I guess Kirby does not have a HEPA system?

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

I have a Miele U1 upright for my top floor, Miele C3 for my main floor, what vacuum should I buy for my basement with one big wall-to-wall carpet and not a lot of tight spaces to maneuver? Despite appearances, I'm not committed to Miele. I'm considering a Kirby from an historical allure...

What vacuums are you hoping would come out in 2022?

Maybe they could finally just make the perfect vacuum in 2022?

New Miele vs older. Since no horsehair, question on ease removing brush, end of handle, bag remover.

... By the way, I'm not sure I've replaced the batteries in the Alize LED lit handle in 4 years... if so, maybe once.

New Miele vs older. Since no horsehair, question on ease removing brush, end of handle, bag remover.

Budget wasn't mentioned... I have a C3 and have bought both powered and unpowered hoses/handles/accessories. This gives me the ultimate flexibility. I love the parquet sweeper for my hardwood flooring... but do have to vacuum the dust off the bristles after ever room. Meanwhile, the SEB236...

    Favorite Color On A Vacuum

I'm partial to the cream colored C3 Alize. Gives it a vintage/classic look.

Headlights -- Why most modern vacuums don't have them?

I'm all about the headlight... I have an SEB236 PN for my Miele C3 and I have a Miele Jazz U1 with headlight... both LED. I recently gave away my Sebo Felix without a headlight. My house is 80 years old with lots of nooks and crannies that are dimly lit. My only disappointment is the SEB236...

    ET-1 Problems

I had bought a used Felix and after I had owned it several months the brush roll stopped working. I took it to a dealership and they changed out the connector mount on the ET-1 that receives the upper unit. I was not real happy because my "Classic" brown plastic was replaced with grey... but...

Miele hose end very hard to insert into wand

Sounds like it could be "out of round".

    MIELE BOOST CX1

Thanks for sharing... unfortunately these mini-bagless vacs that can barely hold a shirt pocket full of lint just don't do it for me. I suspect the many millions that love bagless vacs have never actually washed the various internal filters... ever, much less monthly as the fine print demands.

Need to replace a Sebo Felix...

Joshp83, great critique of the X7 and helpful. Good point about the soft brush. My other 2 vacuums are a U1 and a C3. My Felix only had the ET-1 head, which was generally adequate for hard wood. The U1 is super heavy and I use in my finished basement with wall-to-wall Berber carpet. I'm...

Need to replace a Sebo Felix...

Long story, but am donating a 10-year-old Sebo Felix/ET-1 to an ex-family member. Now I will need to replace... will be kept on a single floor, 50/50 mix of hardwood and rugs, 5 rooms and 1 foyer. I really liked the Felix... but areas for improvement: a bit top heavy, a bit cumbersome to...

The Miele S7 has landed in Canada!

I picked up a like-new U1 a year or two ago. I will admit it's weight makes it very limiting. The very first time my wife used it she turned it off and told me I would be the only one using it because it was too heavy. It is now relegated to my finished basement (man-cave) with wall-to-wall...

Can you make a non-electric Miele compatible with a powerhead?

My C3 Alize was a suction-only unit, but has a removeable/re-usable cover over the electrical connectors for the power hose. There is even a slit within the accessories compartment designed to hold the little cover, which is pretty cool. I upgraded to a power nozzle, which required a new hose...

Royal All Metal Upright Dethroned by "Budget" Bagless Vacuum

Like huskyvacs alludes to, my experience with Sharks are while they really impress out of the box they don't age well. Bagless vacs in general don't age well. My Shark has 2 filters that I must clean monthly, then let them dry for hours before putting back in the machine. Of course after...

Miele or Riccar or something else

I did have my Miele height adjuster break on my power nozzle about 6 months into ownership and it was fixed under warranty. The shop said they really had not seen that issue before.
