    Filteropur upright

Filtropur is a bagless upright created by the former president of HMI (Filter Queen). He had an upright vacuum manufactured overseas that could be sold and pitched as the "new Filter Queen upright" to the thousands of Filter Queen customers he obtained through the years. The link to the...

New TRISTAR vs CXL TRISTAR - which to buy

I love them! The newer Tristar units are one of my favorite vacuums. Super service friendly too. Yes, the parts are a bit more costly than the CXL style units, but they are well made. The body parts and nozzle of the new Tristars are super durable, but light. There is a definite problem...

    HEPA or Paper bags ?

I prefer... synthetic bags, regardless of whether they are HEPA or not. They just seem so much cleaner when removing them from a canister or upright. Paper bags always seem to poof the dust out, probably due more to their stiffness. I have not noticed a significant reduction in airflow using...

    Is this worth it? Tristar.....

You cant lose with a deal like that! You can get a new hose cheap on eBay, any fit all attachments would fit, and most older Eureka power nozzles fit too!

    Rainbow Question...

I have one that does that exact same thing. The hurricane motor sounds like a jet when it is winding up. I found it interesting that there was no electrostatic protective insulation on this model, and the wind up and wind down are much noiser than previous two speed models I have worked on...

    Known issues on Kirby G6?

Before... checking out the switch problems, make sure the post on the removable head is not broken off and is activating the safety switch in the front of the unit. We have had several Kirby vacuums that have had that post either broken or damaged, and it would not activate the switch when put...

    Electrolux Canister Motor Pre-Filter?

Perfect Canister HEPA bags I was curious if the Perfect bags worked well in the plastic bodied lux canisters. I was worried they may restrict the air flow too much? Can you fill them all the way up like you can with the paper ones? Interested in getting real user experience with this as some...

Reliable Kirby vacuum sweeps away most of the competition---YAHOO.COM

Unfortunately that is not the case. Although on the recent paperwork sent to me by Simplicity, the production of the power nozzles was moved to St James. I believe they may have a line of canisters now made (or assembled) in the US, but there are a whole bunch of chinese made Tacony units...

Reliable Kirby vacuum sweeps away most of the competition---YAHOO.COM

Funny I was just thinking about the durability of the Kirby and how amazingly well built the Kirby is today when I was cursing at the Riccar 1500 P and Simplicity S38 vacuums I worked on today. When I pulled the motor out of the S38 and showed it to my coworker, I didn't think he was going to...

    Rug Doctor?

Extractors As I have said before, I get units in after they have been used for 2-5 years. From my experience dealing with extractors, the Bissell Proheats are garbage and poorly made. The old school cheap Hoover Steam Vacs sure do seam to hold up well though. We rent out the Bissell Big...

    What's in the vac Shops

360's They have continued to try to make improvements on the hose/wand/power nozzle. FQ was aware of the intermittent shorting problem shortly after the 75th came out. I remember as a distributor at the time replacing many hoses, wands and power nozzles. They made a couple minor changes to...

    What's in the vac Shops

Filter Queen @ Lunchboxsean The 75th Anniversary motor units were good, but the hose/wand/power nozzles were not. Ends snap off the wands, hoses known to short, the silver nozzles had poor design with the bearing end on the non belt side freezing, causing the nozzle to vibrate to the point of...

    What's in the vac Shops

Riccar Canisters I would like to clarify that my negative opinion of Riccar and Simplicity is with their canister units, not the uprights. The uprights hold up really well and are very cost effective to own and use. It is the made in China canister vacuums that are disappointingly not worth...

    What's in the vac Shops

Riccar/Simplicity I have never touched either the Immaculate or Impeccable, but have worked on several 1800, 1500 Simplicity units, which would be the Simplicity equivalent. The hose/wand/power nozzles do not seem to hold up well, nor do the canisters for that matter. Working on units in the...
