    Hoover Model 61

Not all can be Supermodels like the Hoover model 61. Imagine the disappointment of expecting a machine like this but having to settle for a homely Premier or Kenmore!

    SEBO Felix

Its like a cylinder with a handle attached. Thats a live hose, and the cloth is a wraparound filter/exhaust diffuser.

    SEBO Felix

Its one of the few modern machines im sure id like. Seems like it might clean better than a traditional Sebo one-motor upright.

    Eureka "Retro-Vac"

I have one. The heavy duty pancake motor is a nice touch, along with the longer cord and metal switch. The wooden disturbulator and four (not six) position Dial a Nap are weird. Other deluxe touches include the wide commercial-grade wheels, full width furniture guard and chromed-steel handle...

Was this a good Win off ebay for $10.50?????

Looks good to me! I had one of these, and currently have the Handivac (broom) variation. They are great for sweeping the kitchen or bathroom floor or getting crumbs off the couch. These have good suction as long as you dont collect too much fine powder. Stock up on the "G" bags now. They will...

    Our almost new Eureka "Goldie"

Let this be a lesson. I'm not too surprised they threw away the old bag. Anyway, these old bags are a cinch to replace. Two screws and presto. The replacement bags are allover ebay. Two choices are the white cloth bag with "Eureka" printed vertical and the Micron-Filtration grey-colored bag...

    Hoover Quadraflex brush strips

Stock up on those strips when you find them. They are indeed NLA from TTI.

    They kept telling me...

Perfect video. Are you gonna try a cloth bag or different agitator, for variety? Speaking as a Hoover fan, I'm sorry Hoover gave up on this traditional design. This style Eureka... uh Electrolux... continues to be popular with contract cleaners and carpet installers. Working at a hotel I saw...

Hoover Convertible with Eureka F & G Bags

I feel both ways about the C bag. In an average home, the C bag is just large enough to last one month, and it makes sense to change your vacuum bag about once a month whether it is full or not. Nobody want to store quantities of old dirt. IMO the filtration is not as bad as some will lead you...

    Sanitare SC678A

I forgot about the belt difference. I suspect the UK belts may be similar to the US commercial-style belts. I once (unintentionally) placed a used Hoover Convertible belt on my Eureka. It WAS stretched and it wasnt too tight.

    They kept telling me...

Fred you read my mind. Made in USA?? And 700w? 600w? That less than our 840 watts. Less is better, IMO. I look forward to your review, Jack. IMO this is one of the best deep-cleaning uprights ever made.

    The Kirby Challenge...

That looks about right. Vibration always gets more embedded dirt. With the way the Eureka grabs the carpet, and with the slapping action of the brush strips on the VGII, dirt that airflow and sweeping miss starts coming up. The VG I on the 677 is nice for pet hair issues, since you can...

    Hoover "Contract" Commercial U4002

Thats a cute machine,Seamus. Love the metal main casting, shakeout bag and double brush agitator. I like the color too!

    Hoover Conquest...........

Check the idler pulley too. Much easier to service or replace than the motor bearings. I often wonder about the lifespan of the Conquest motor. Seems to spin faster than the Sanitaire 7amp. Wonder how it compares.

Do you mean the first style of the Type A fill-tube?

You Cannot Clean by Suction Alone! – a shocking photo play by Jack Copp

Eric you know full well the Housekeeper cannot touch the carpet cleaning ability of the Elite. I can see the side intake being an issue, but Elites have airflow to get the job done. I think you are letting their iffy construction prejudice you. (ducks and runs)

You Cannot Clean by Suction Alone! – a shocking photo play by Jack Copp

i could see an Elite winning over a Kirby. The Elite sweeping action is very vigorous.
