If you use a steam mop the dust won't blow around or even just a mop. As i say in the vast majority of hospitals where cleanliness has to be at it's highest they use hardfloors. Bacteria will grow in carpets, dirt will stick to the fibres as will dust mites. Yes i agree dust will cling to the...

    Isn't it just.. Beautiful?! :-)

Carpets hold a lot of dirt it sticks to the fibres. Use a carpet extractor and look at the colour of the water. The deeper the pile the more dirt. With a hard floor you can steam clean it regularly. Its the most hygienic this is why it's used in hospitals. But carpet is fine im just saying...

I'm sorry Stan I'm not convinced I would say hard floors are the most hygienic followed by low pile carpet. If high pile carpet is the most hygienic why isn't it used in hospitals?

    Rainbows in the UK?

They look very good but a new one is £1500 or more. I wouldn't pay that. If I could pick up a used one on ebay I'd like to try one.

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

It's because most people in the UK prefer an upright on their carpeted floor. I would like to see more cylinders with a PN. I find the noise of a Turbo brush so annoying and i don't like straight suction on carpet.

Good point. Sebo do also have cylinder vacs too though. And they come from a commercial background. In the UK it is mostly uprights.

I've never used a Vorwerk so I can't comment. But there are some very nice European vacs was my point.
