What happened to Oreck in the UK?

I have no idea. I didn't even realise Oreck stopped selling in the UK. It's probably because their vacuum cleaners were quite disturbing XD (personally I find them disturbing, no offence)

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

Hey guys! I understand all your arguments and worries. I must confess that a lot of what I'm saying is mainly theories because a lot of what I have heard is from online. So I perfectly understand that Hoover were excellent back in the day, and sometimes today. I have a 750w PurePower that I...

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

Thx for your recent opinions! Firstly, I agree with dysonman about the fact that Hoover were good in the 1960s/70s. But I think when they made the permabag and reusable bags that wasn't good. For regularRett, you are correct. I think the first vacuum company that comes to my mind is BVC...

Changing things around on my Hoover 105

Wow! I literally have never seen that build in red! Is that rare?

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

Hi, I've come to the conclusion that not just in the last 30 decades, but throughout their whole career, Hoover have been the most arrogant vacuum cleaner company known to man. I got this evidence from YouTube videos of vacuum documentaries and also videos of their vintage and modern failures...

    Why I dislike Dyson

I like the way you put it, Overpriced, overrated, over-engineered and underperforming. I like that a lot and I can relate to every word. The only way Dyson can make more suction than they already claim, thanks to Vacuum Wars and Vacuumtests for prooving this, is by inserting a microfibre bag!

    Homemade vacuum that works

I have a feeling that I've seen this on YT. Pretty cool actually.

Maintenance tips needed for my 750w Hoover Purepower

Thank you Turbomaster1984 :) I know I seem like a weird bloke but it'll be for reasons that I'm not ready to say online yet. Also I am aware that HEPA filters alone won't completely take away all dust. And Lesinutah... well I got my PurePower for my home and it cost around £89 on Amazon UK. But...

    Felix Pet Exhaust Filter

I'm sure it will fit onto the cleaner like any Felix filter :) Correct me if I'm wrong though

Maintenance tips needed for my 750w Hoover Purepower

Hello all, Much to your annoyance, I have a 750w Hoover Purepower PU71 which I really like using, especially with microfibre bags, but knowing how knowledgable most of you guys are here I wanted to collect some maintenance tips. I'm fully aware of the obvious, like changing bags when 2/3 full...

    worst vacuum

So nice to hear your thoughts! My father once purchased a £59 Hoover Whirlwind WR71WR01001 which began my road to being knowledgeable with vacuum cleaners. This 'road' started in a negative way because this was the first time I ever heard a belt-driven vacuum cleaner with a 750w motor slowing...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

    By the way Hi Alex!

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

I have a PurePower and I really like it. Its 750w (which I prefer to the greedy 2kw ones) and it has brilliant suction. I saw a demo from ibaisaic of the exact model I have and on the correct floor setting and it picks up ALL pet hair. You can't go wrong because it somewhat edge cleans better...

Why do people say the Hoover Junior was a bad vacuum?

So nice to hear your thoughts! At least someone appreciates the power of a direct air motor! I once saw footage online of the Hoover Junior close-up. It was visually beating the grit out of the carpet, and doing it well. I've always thought that the brushes of the agitator would brush the grit...

Why do people say the Hoover Junior was a bad vacuum?

Hello VacuumLand! I want to start off by saying the Hoover Junior was not a bad cleaner at all. Quick disclaimer too, I obtained this scientific knowledge from an American YouTube channel named VacuumWars, just so that no one accuses me of stealing someone else's words. The difference between a...

The Vax Blade 2 Max - Should you really get it?

If you're a design watcher like me, the answer is NO. I do apologise if VAX or anyone else are offended by me saying all this, but it's the sad truth. Even though I have never touched hands on this cleaner, I have strong opinions already. First of all, VAX have NOT re-thought their storage...

How do you put a vacuum cleaner to sleep...?

You don't need to worry about this anymore. I gave the Hoover Whirlwind away to one of our family relatives, and I now have a bagged upright. It is, don't mind me, a Hoover PurePower pu71pu01001. I love my new cleaner so much, it glides when you push it and it also has a full tool kit...

    New toy!

That's cool! I must say, the bottom looks really rusty, but that's a great find! It might be rare but I don't know because I'm from the UK, not to mention the fact it's labelled Convertible rather than Senior. And may I ask, did this series of model never have a headlight in the US? I'm just...

How do you put a vacuum cleaner to sleep...?

Thanks for all your solutions! I found the removing the brushes idea a bit too complex, because I'm not a vacuum engineer (if you know what I'm saying). I would have to do this with someone, but I don't want anyone to know the cleaner will be broken on purpose because I'm really naughty and I'm...

How do you put a vacuum cleaner to sleep...?

Hello VacuumLand! I know this is a very weird question to ask but I'm in the middle of being bored of our spare vacuum, which is cyclonic. So basically I've had enough. By the way it's a Hoover Whirlwind, with only one attachment and a power head that's hard to push, but also suction that's too...
