    G.E. Roll Around Model C4

Yep It’s a beautiful specimen. The brown bumper and hose are complements of our lovely Tania (Airway Lady).  When she came to visit me in Chicago at Tarantula Arms I never heard the end of the fact that it was missing the bumper and the original hose.  So, God love her, she made the machine...

    Silverado hose help

Lux Dusting Brushes This thread caused me to get out two of the Lux round dusting brushes.  The one on the right is the XXX dusting brush which I have always loved. Indestructible. The one one the left is plastic with the white dusting bristles. The interesting thing about that one is that it...

    Electrolux Silverado Model 1505

I’d Stay Away From That Hose It’s the exact one that got jammed in the 1205 I gave a friend.  See link below. Seems the manufacturing tolerances are not quite right.  I’ve used aftermarket hoses before but this experience changes my opinion.  “You get what you pay for.”  I hear the aftermarket...

Calling All Electrolux Service Experts! Electrolux 1205

Success! Got the machine back to see if I could get the hose end out.  My friend had already done major surgery including the removal of the catch tabs so I suspected it may be catching at the electrical contacts. Wanted to be careful not to use too much force and possibly damage the electrical...

    Today’s project...painting an Electrolux AF

Here’s The Lettering On my silver rebuilt G.  They didn’t paint the lettering when they rebuilt it.  Used a pin point brush.  I’ll use Charles suggestion.

    Today’s project...painting an Electrolux AF

Beautiful Job Jon Inspires me to do a touch up job on one of mine (including the white lettering per Charles’ suggestion.). I did the lettering on my Silver G but used acrylic paint and it is a painstaking process.

Calling All Electrolux Service Experts! Electrolux 1205

Well I’ll Consider This A Lesson Learned My friend who is fairly handy tried Tom’s suggestion with no success. He’s dismantled the hose (now trash) and still can’t get it out. I’ll take the machine back here and hopefully extract the hose end without damaging the machine. From now on it’s only...

    Well Good luck then.

Any Model 1205 Factory Electrical Schematics Around?

Now That I Think About It You could never get genuine Electrolux parts from aftermarket suppliers such as Hesco.  I was a big customer of Hesco and they could generally supply original parts for most manufacturers.   Not Electrolux.  Electrolux closely controlled the supply chain.  It continues...

Any Model 1205 Factory Electrical Schematics Around?

I Doubt That There Are Any published Lux Service Manuals out there.  I have checked from time to time depending on any rare issues I was having with my Luxes.  Part of the value proposition with purchasing an Electrolux was the visiting Electrolux man to service any issues and supply bags (and...

Calling All Electrolux Service Experts! Electrolux 1205

Tom Gasko Got Back To Me In my experience Tom is a master vac repairman. I’ve seen him work. Here is his response.   ”<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> I have run across this problem before. The machine end fitting is not made to the American tolerances.   What I have had to do is stand the...

Calling All Electrolux Service Experts! Electrolux 1205

In reducing my collection I gave a Lux 1205 to a friend with attachments and a PN2. I didn’t have a good electric hose to go with it so he ordered an aftermarket electric hose from EBay. The hose is now jammed in the machine and cannot be removed. Has anyone come across this problem before...

    Requiem For Electrolux?

Someone posted today on the Contemporary Forum of the changes on the Aerus site. No more vacuum cleaners. I was disappointed that they no longer show vacuums for sale. I should have suspected something when the longtime Electrolux guy who sold me a pigtail hose was pushing the air filters. If...

VacuMaid Central Vacuum Inlet Valve Mounting Bracket

Vackid I agree about the durability of these inlets. I had 12 of them in my system in Chicago for 15 years used by housekeepers and never had a problem. What I like is that they remind me of the vintage Filtex inlets without the buttons and lights. And once you get used to the low voltage...

What vacuums have you seen in movies?

If You Expand This To include TV shows here is one of my favorites. Hazel vacuuming the Baxter’s living room with a Modern Hygiene. She also used it to help out the bachelor neighbor who moved in next door. That Modern Hygiene was a fabulously beautiful machine.

VacuMaid Central Vacuum Inlet Valve Mounting Bracket

Vacman1961 Not sure why you say the valves from MD are cheap. I have had them in 2 homes now and find them solid and functional. And at $40 a crack I wouldn’t say they are cheap. I find the quality excellent.

VacuMaid Central Vacuum Inlet Valve Mounting Bracket

Best Retro Inlets From MD Manufacturing. I have the ones in bronze. Remind me of vintage Filtex inlets and work with current low voltage hoses. https://builtinvacuum.com/parts/all/outlet-cover/basic/metal-oval-inlet/
