    How would you repair this?

Indeed it did which is why I'm at a loss on how to fix it.   I'm sure there has to be some solution, but I know it will be difficult.

    How would you repair this?

When I picked up the Electrolux The Boss it was in full working order, however recently I noticed it would not hold in the upright position securely so decided to investigate further.    Not surprisingly, the below pictures show what I found.   Question is, I don't have the piece that...

    David Watters is gone.

Although I never knew of this man, it saddens me nonetheless to hear of his passing. I am sure that his memory will live on within the group that knew him. Rest In Peace.

how often should i replace the bag?

NEVER wait for the bag check indicator. Replace the bag when it gets to 1/2 full, or 3/4 at the very most.

A Very Poorly Written "Article" Regarding The Hoover Vortex

Given the fact Tom Gasko's username here is "Dysonman1" I'm not at all surprised that article was biased the way it was.

    Electrolux "The Boss Plus" 1300

I've just this evening done a thorough clean of the living room which meant the Lux was in use for around an hour constantly and it didn't miss a beat. The only thing I do have to look into is a rather noisy brush roll. Some grease should cure that though. Photos will be posted tomorrow (if I...

    Electrolux "The Boss Plus" 1300

Ah, sounds like the operating system has corrupted somehow. It could be fixed by reinstalling the OS, but if it is a few years old already then a new model would probably be the best solution in the long run.

    Electrolux "The Boss Plus" 1300

Good Lord! That Electrolux 1498 in the second picture is the one we had when I was young. My first vacuum memory, in fact. I think we had discussions trying to place what model it could be but we never managed to find it. You are right about the cyclones - my mother was forever taking it...

Oh, and the model number is Z1358 - forgot to mention that in the original post.

Thanks Chris! Wasn't expecting a response from you, did you type that up on your phone or have you managed to source a working PC? In any event, I'll hurry up and take some photos for you to see.

    Electrolux "The Boss Plus" 1300

Well guys, it has been a while since my collection gained a new member, but yesterday - it did! I came across the below linked item and got in touch with the advertiser within an hour of it going live - offering to collect it that afternoon. Thankfully he responded advising that would be fine...

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

John, if there were a HOOVER museum you would be more than qualified to run it! Your house is better than a museum though, because it is a place where the vacuums can still "live" normal lives and be used, rather than being placed on podiums etc... I would so love to see your collection in...

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

Great pictures as always John!  I have to say I'm surprised to see that you have Maytag appliances, although they are apparently great quality I always imagined you would have a HOOVER washer and dryer.

    vintage hoover pictures

John, if I had the funds I would buy them and send them to you myself!!  Heck, if I had the funds I'd come over WITH the cleaners to visit.  But alas, just now I do not.

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

I'll have to keep an eye out and see if there are any HOOVER shirts around in my size!    I'm not a hat wearer either, although occasionally if it is very warm day and I'm out in the exposed sun for hours it is useful to have.

Oh Some People! Can You Acutually Believe This?!

I'd just run it without the exhaust filter to be honest, the filtration would be slightly impeded but it wouldn't bother me.   My Electrolux Tango hasn't had an exhaust filter fitted for a couple of months now although I will get around to buying some cut-to-size material soon to replace it.

Are those official shirts John?  I would certainly be interested in acquiring some HOOVER apparel.
