Electrolux chest: how to tell what year ?

I bought one in very good condition today, no tear in the material, no weird smell. According to informations gathered in Doug Smith's collection, this model has been made from 1976 to 1987, I wonder if there is a way to tell what exact year?

Electrolux Metal Body Canister Front Wheel

If this is what you mean, I wasn't sure these wheels were available, so I decided to buy a generic wheel mounted on a swivel, drilled the rivet out and put the generic wheel on my ZB89. I'm satisfied with the result. I would have preferred a green wheel, but black is ok.

    Electrolux ZB89 rear connectors

I did almost the same mistake with a friend of mine last week, we were trying to make a very old industrial ringer work (like the one to call the break time in a shop), I misplaced a wire and then buzzzzz, the electric arc came out of the connection and the breaker of the whole basement went...

Need help wiring up a switch in a Silverado

Maybe this screw was so loose in its hole it fell by itself, this would explain why you don't remember removing it. My SUperJ has these self-tapping screws to hold the rear part of the canister body, Philips head though. SOmeone may have replaced the original with a slotted one.

    AP 200

I may end up doing the same with my ZB89, if I plug it directly I won't need the reel connections, I think the reel works properly (not sure of that) but it's missing the electrical connections.

Need help wiring up a switch in a Silverado

Yep, you were right , the blade connectors are 1-8th wide, not 3-16th. I just measured one (female) in my SuperJ.

Need help wiring up a switch in a Silverado

The blade connectors I bought last week to fix an AP-100 broken cord are 3-16th of inch wide , and they are the same size as the ones that connect the motor to the cord winder and the motor to the harness, and so on, so my guess would be that you'll need the same size. As for the small bolts or...

    AP 200

A friend of mine bought for me two ZB88 yesterday, one is supposed to have a bad motor but a nice canister and the other one a damaged canister but a good motor, I may end up making one good machine out of two, and use the connections of the second ZB88 (red machine) to make my ZB89 (green...

    AP 200

I meant a good plug with 3 good wires from an AP100, of course !

    AP 200

Another option is for me to send you a good plug from one of my AP-100s already stripped for parts. THat will not solve my ZB89 problem, but it will help you fix your AP200 without ruining your ZB86.

    AP 200

If you ever decide to take the plug from the ZB86, I'd gladly buy from you the electric connectors with the plastic cover in the rear end. I need them to fix a ZB89.

    Last purchase: Elux 1453 model

I have both hoses (Canadian and American styles), but most of them leak at different levels, the only cheap way I've found to make them airtight is to wrap them witjh shipping tape.

    AP 200

Do you mean the contacts on the door side or on the canister side ? WHat do you mean by came right off ? DO you mean the whole three-female-connector plug came off the canister casing ?

    SuperJ no back filter

Well if I put a back filter, it would be mostly to catch the carbon dust.

Elux AP-280 , only one speed

Thanks for the info Rob. The motor bearing change (number 608) is pretty easy when the fan covers aren't ceased up with rust, then two rivets have to be drilled out of the bearing retaining plate and replaced with small bolts and nuts with locktite, that's about it.

    Last purchase: Elux 1453 model

Thank you guys ! As I said , I'm not a fan of the sliding ON-OFF switch, other than that, the motor is strong and the whole machine is not too heavy. NOt sure if I'll sell it back with a good used hose and an assorted PN or if I'll keep it for myself.
