Now that's funny, I was about to write a thread on the same subject, the last Electrolux I bought came with two tubes stuck in each other and the end of the flexible hose stuck in the upper tube. I'll try the hot water trick, water is easier to clean up after if it doesn't work.

Your picture doesn't show the third marrette very well, does it hold one of the wires coming from the motor and the green wire going to the switch ?
