Elux AP-280 , only one speed

I splitted the vac body and pulled the motor out and undid the motor plastic cover the electric connections are in. WHen I compared the way I connected the wires after bearing fix with the way they were on the picture I took while disassembly, I realized I probably hold the cover upside down...

Elux AP-280 , only one speed

I understand what you wrote, but how would the high speed coils burn while I was fixing the bearing? I mean, both speeds were working before the fix, and now only low speed works, and I haven't used the vac in the meantime. I would not bring it to the shop to have the motor changed, I could...

Elux AP-280 , only one speed

I opened an AP-280 for the first time earlier today because the motor was noisy and I suspected the bearing has to be changed, what I did without any problem. I know for sure that both speeds (HI and LOW) worked properly before I did the bearing replacement. NOw , I have only one speed, the...

    Last purchase: Elux 1453 model

Here is what I brought home today. I bought it from an old Quebecer who has lived in FLorida for many years and then came back to Quebec City recently. Is it possible to tell what year it is based on the serial number? 1975? The hose is broken at the connector end, can it be fixed ? The...

AP-100 motor bearing , how to replace?

I'm confident it'll work, I swapped wires with good connections from a donor AP-100 with a dead motor and a cracked body, it's just a question of time.

Sometimes it's REALLY DIRTY in there!

Sven, I don't know a lot about LEd but it seems to be very bright ! Is it a simple upgrade?

    SuperJ no back filter

All other Eluxs I own have a rear filter, and everytime I buy a new one (except SuperJ's), the old filter in there is stuffed with carbon dust, what is it supposed to be for anyhow?
  8. Q

    SuperJ no back filter

Does someone know why there isn't any back filter in the SuperJs ? Is simply the design wrong and there's no room for it, or is there any other reason ? That one on the picture had a big kleenex with some lavender oil or sort of packed in the exhaust hole as a homemade filter.

Sometimes it's REALLY DIRTY in there!

Yeah a bit of time and elbow grease, you know, you need grease to remove grease, said my grandfather!

Yeah, satisying is the word, I was very pleased with the result.

Electrolux Olympia2 or model 1453, rare?

Thanks but 34.99 US dollars, it is not less than 40 Canadian dollars, probably between 45 and 50 Can $, plus 20 can $ for shipping, not a great deal for me.

Sometimes it's REALLY DIRTY in there!

Last month, I bought a telescoping wand and a PN, bottom tube was a bit crooked but I figured the price was fair enough just for the PN. I opened it this afternoon to clean it, man, it was a lot worse than I expected in there(see pictures). I can't imagine what they did with that machine...

Electrolux Olympia2 or model 1453, rare?

I already own three SuperJs, and I have 5 hoses that could fit, not all in great shape, but I'll see what I'll do IF I buy it. It won't be an easy one, it's a bit far from my place.

Electrolux Olympia2 or model 1453, rare?

Thank you Adin, she's asking 40$ for it, I find it a bit steep for a vac without its hose or any attachment. I don't know if it works well or not. I don't know why you say it doesn't have an integrated cord reel, the white rear section is obviously the cord reel compartment?

Electrolux Olympia2 or model 1453, rare?

As for the motor, would it be the same that equipped the SUperJ ?

AP-100 motor bearing , how to replace?

Well , the second one finally came out, I had to install my bearing extractor on something more stable and solid, i.e. on pieces of 4X4 laying directly on the concrete floor. I got it out at fourth strike. I had a hard time installing the new bearing in the fan housing, for some reason it...

    Vibra-beat

Thanks Brian and others, i'm always amazed by the amount of knowledge on this forum. My interest for vacuum cleaners is quite recent and I have mostly focused on Elux, so I feel like I have a lot to learn.

Electrolux Olympia2 or model 1453, rare?

I may have an opportunity to buy an Olympia 2 with the cord reel at the back, I've never seen that model or something similar before. Is it a rare model, or is it because it is an American model and I live in Canada? The one for sale doesn't have its hose, would it be the same type of hose that...

Nice machine! That model wasn't produced here in Canada.

    Vibra-beat

I do confirm that it's LOUD, and that there isn't much space to let debris go between the strips. It is useless for me, that's why I offered it to the group.
