    My Hoover Convertible U4335!

Lovely! Sadly, we don't have those here in England. Robin.

    leaving vacuumland

I am from England, and I am sorry to hear that people are unhappy with the forum. I have never actually met a fellow vacuum collector, but I enjoy talking to others on here. I must admit that I have not devoted as much time to Vacuumland recently, as I have more than one hobby, and not enough...

This 1950s Kitchen Has Been Untouched For Over 50 Years...

I agree with the above. Robin.

    Cars!

I obviously agree that modern vehicles have infinitely better safety features than were available in the past. This is obviously a good thing, and I work in a hospital, so I see car crash victims. However, I still enjoy driving historic vehicles, and I am prepared to accept the risks involved...

    Cars!

I am also a car enthusiast. I have various vehicles, dating from the 1930's to the 1970's. I have attached photos of some of my collection. Robin.[this post was last edited: 1/6/2015-15:16]

    "HOOVERING"

Where I live, Hoover and Hoovering are generic terms, much to my annoyance.

My Hoover find of the week

Who else has got one of these?

My Hoover find of the week

Hi Seamus, Yes, the bag does say Hoover on it (on the left, behind the cable) so it might be the original. It certainly looks in keeping with the style of the machine. How many Contract Hire 652 examples are known to survive? Robin.

My Hoover find of the week

Hi Seamus, The chassis is stamped 652A and the serial number is JT735903. I believe that it dates from about 1963, but I would welcome the opinions of people more knowledgeable than myself. There doesn't appear to be any trace of pink on the bag. I don't know any history of this particular...

My Hoover find of the week

This example has the silver, hammer finish paint and the extra long cable. Robin.

My Hoover find of the week

As you can see, this machine arrived in a filthy state, and at first I didn't realise what it was. On closer inspection, it appears to be a "Contract Hire" model, although there is no "J" suffix on the number. Robin.

    Hoover U4034

I have to admit that I don't consider this machine to be the most elegant of classic Hoover designs, but if you want one of every model, you must take the rough with the smooth. Robin.

    Hoover U4034

I have recently acquired a Hoover model U4034, that dates from October 1975. I would be grateful if anyone could provide me with any information on this model. Any details of the British market Senior models from the 1970s/80s would be most welcome. Thank you very much. Robin.

    A charming family photo.

I definitely think that the little girl takes after her mother. Robin.
