    Won an Oreck XL21!

HEPA bags I am pretty sure that they do. I was looking online for bags and they have Odor Eliminating HEPA bags on oreck.com, but they are expensive at $34.99 for only eight! I can't wait for mine to arrive sometime next week...

    Won an Oreck XL21!

@ctvacman, I thought they were pretty good. Has anybody done a performance test between a regular (Classic, XL2, 9100, etc) Oreck and an XL21 type (Pilot, Axis, XL21, Forever Series Gold, Platinum)? It would be interesting to see which one did better.

    Won an Oreck XL21!

Hi everyone! Before I start, let me just say that I really like Vacuumland! There is so much knowledge here it's not even funny :) Anyway, I just won an auction for an Oreck XL21 700ECB. Its the black model. Anyway, I am pretty excited to get it, as I have wanted one since I was a little kid and...

Hoover U5399-900 Windtunnel Lite Upright Circa 2001

Very Nice! What a great restoration job! They need to make 13" models like that again, sometimes the 15" models are just too big...

    Hoover Windtunnels

Tornado Graphics The new WindTunnel graphics are sooo plain...they should bring back the tornado. One year when I was like one or two, I was a Hoover WindTunnel for Halloween, my mom did such a great job with the costume! I still have part of it, and ill NEVER get rid of it. :)

    Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck

I finally got it off! It was just rusted to the shaft. I did some slight prying, and off it came. Thanks!

    Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck

Rust on motor shaft Could very well be a possibility. The nut came off perfectly fine, with very little resistance. I will try the ribbon trick and try tapping it with a rubber mallet to loosen it. Ill see how it goes! Thanks for your input so far!

    Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck

I have been having problems with the separator in my Rainbow E2 single speed from 2003, and I am wondering if anybody else has had the same problem and what they did to fix it. So, the separator WILL NOT COME OFF THE MOTOR SHAFT! I have tried and tried to get it off, but it will not even move. I...

    Confused about Kenmore bags

IF the bags are white and in a white and pink package, then they are the Genuine Kenmore allergen filtration bags. It seems like Kenmore has been modernizing things lately, so they though the yellow bag color was not "modern" enough. And, yes, the yellow HomeCare bags you have been buying are...

    Hoover Windtunnels

WindTunnels! I have 5 WindTunnel branded machines, as well as an early Savvy, which i'm including because it, in reality, is a WindTunnel Dual V. The first is my blue Anniversary WindTunnel Bagged. I found this at the DI for $15.00, and, besides the scratches, it is in nearly new condition. It...

    Dyson DC07 Question

Brushroll Clutch If it's a loud ratcheting, it is likely a bad brushroll clutch. They can be rebuilt with new belts, but that is a pain in the butt and if it's ratcheting it just needs to be replaced. Or it could be the motor, if it's more of a screaming sound. Let us know how it goes!

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

The ball is a good idea, but eliminating fixed wheel machines from their lineup is a very bad idea. I would prefer a fixed wheel machine, as the ball seems to strain my wrist uncomfortably. Bring back fixed wheels!

New Sebo "Mechanical" Line of Commercial Upright Vacuums

Windsor Versamatic These seem very similar to the Windsor Versamatic that we have in the U.S! They are amazing machines (for commercial carpet).

New Kirby bags? Micro allergen Plus?

Micron Magic What ever happened to "Micron Magic" bags?
  15. S

    What would you do?

I would get the Rainbow I like Kirbys, and think that they are great vacuums. However, I would get a used Rainbow. Make sure its clean, though! Some people don't change the water often enough and the motors can get really dirty, and often times they need a good rebuild with new bearings, etc...

    Bissell model 3512-9

Singer When I was in Kindergarten, the first grade classroom was next to us, and they had a black Singer version. I never knew if it worked or not, it was just kinda "there". I think it worked. It was probably old at the time, that was 2007!

Hoover Wind tunnel Elite Max bagless vacuum

Sorry about referring to Bissell I just used that as an example of how motors can get loud because of dirt. Aren't the HOOVER machines pretty quiet?

Hoover Wind tunnel Elite Max bagless vacuum

Washing the filter regularly Did you wash the filter regularly? Bissells can get very loud because people never wash the filters, and a ton of the dust gets sucked into the motor, ruining the bearings or clogging up the fans and causing excessive noise and vibration. Aren't those machines...

    Simplicity 7 Series 7850

I think that the fixing the brush would be pretty easy if you are mechanically inclined. Just be careful with what you are doing, and you should be fine. I have a 7350, and I have never had any problems with it.

Hoover Legacy & Hoover Quik-Broom II Habitat Restore Finds

Concept One I thought it was a lot later, mainly because it sure doesn't look like it's from the 70's! I saw a newer one in a thrift store, and it looked very similar to that. Wish they still used the Quadraflex in their newer vacuums.
