    Cool shaped Samsung canister!

Lindhaus Powerhead Guy, Getting a unit with a Lindhaus Powerhead alone would be worth it. That's one of the better powerheads on the market in my humble opinion. Vernon

Awesome Motor upgrade for older Electrolux vacuums.

Dismantling a Perfect "Lux" Canister Yes, I have dismantled one down to the motor. couldn't get the motor out as I need to buy a different socket set. The Perfect Lux motor is made by ametek lamb, and is there new advantek series. Supposedly, it is model #122093. Generally, lamb has produced...

Awesome Motor upgrade for older Electrolux vacuums.

Same motor as in current Aerus canisters To my knowledge, this is the same motor that is being used in the Guardian, Legacy, and Classic canisters today. It is a 5.2 inch wide motor, single stage (hence it is not too wide for the SJ series), as compared to the previous two stage 5.7 inch wide...

    Perfect Canister Vacuum

Pete, I bought mine in the US last may, when I paid about 1.05 on the dollar, and got a steal of a deal. If memory serves correct, the company that distributes Johnny Vac in Canada, Beaulac?? in Quebec is the Canadian distributor. Try www.johnnyvac.com Since we Canadians are "special", the...

the gasket that seals the hand grip to the wand I meant to say the gasket that seals the hand grip to the hose in my previous post. Sorry!! Vernon

    Perfect Canister Vacuum

I have one The unit is a real powerhouse!! The hose is not quite as good as OEM, but for the difference in price, I'd go with the perfect hose. (the gasket that seals the hand grip to the wand could be better, as there can be some air leakage, that's my beef about the hose!), nice having the...

    Perfect Canister Vacuum

Bill, The Perfect Vacuum is made by IMIG of New York. It is assembled in China of US, Chinese, and German components. It has the newer designed Ametek advantek motor. These motors run much cooler as the brushes come right after the fan unit, instead of being at the back end near the commutator...

    Electrolux Lower Wand

Bill, The lower wand should be available at any Aerus franchise, or any independent vac shop. Just check the fit, as I've ran across a few that where out by a hair's width and were not compatible. Vernon

    Metropolitan Vacuum

Bill, From what Metropolitan Vac has told me, it does have an Ametek motor. Sorry, don't know which model, believe it is a two stage though. Vernon

    Metropolitan Vacuum

Bill, You are right, old school design, but having said that, simple, straight forward, and reliable. On/off switch and a motor--pretty simple. Paper bag that fits into a cloth bag, followed by a hepa filter so exhaust emissions are pretty good. I have the pro series compact version, it looks...

    Brushroll - When to Replace?

Gary, You can rotate the bearings on the PN2 or in Canada, the AP Lux series PN, which will give you longer bristle brush life.

    Brushroll - When to Replace?

On the L shaped Lux nozzles, I find that when they've lost 1mm, a change out is worth it. Normally, the L shaped brushes start out at 9mm (millimeters) in length.

    New Canister Needed

A used Electrolux canister as Sam mentioned above would be fine. Even a used plastic lux canister would do well too. Just buy the hepa/filtrete bags for them. Stay away from the reni, too many electrical problems with this model

    New Hoover Constellation Questions

Dave, Just another thought on that hole, since the connie needs air to float on, the hole might be one way to ensure there is always enough airflow to float on. I hear you on the better quality vacs having a spring loaded valve, like the taski bora 12 or older linhdaus healthcare pro hepa...

    New Hoover Constellation Questions

Fred: Thanks for tearing things to pieces and posting the pics. Dave: That air leak hole under the handle back you're referring to, I to noticed that and called Hoover asking why--they didn't have an answer for the hole Vernon

    New Hoover Constellation Questions

I've been considering purchasing one of these for some time, but have a few questions that the Hoover experts might be able to answer: 1. Has anyone used a suction and Baird airflow meter to determine the inches of lift and CFM?? 2. What make and model of motor do these have, and are they a...

Metropolitan Vacs ; New, how much?

Pete, Yes, metrovac is still producing new units. Go to www.metrovacworld.com From what I gather, their pro series (stainless steel) is the most powerful of the bunch. From what I've seen, The Bay is carrying the pro series. I have the compact version without the power nozzle. I've rigged up an...

    Electrolux Motors

Yes, the perfect motor is probably one of the most powerful on the market. Mine puts most built in to shame when you use a suction gauge or airflow meter at the end of the hose. But, the perfect motor is 5.7 inches in diameter, the 1205/Super J is about 5.25. You would somehow have to widen out...

    Hose for Lux '89

Gary, Aerus told me the same thing. The fact of the matter is that these were discontinued about 10 years ago, give or take. Aerus gave me the part number, but when I went and entered it into their inventory system, it didn't even come up as a valid part number. If it is a currently...
