Miele S7 Upright. Consumer Reports has ruled....

I posted this on Andrew's hose problem thread, but thought others that might be interested in this might not see it there. Consumer Reports has finally reviewed the Miele S7 in their on-line "continually updated" ratings. It did very well. Currently tied in second place with the Kenmore...

    Miele S7 Hose Issue... Again!

Consumer Reports Rating Consumer Reports has finally reviewed the Miele S7 in their on-line "continually updated" ratings. It did very well. Currently tied in second place with the Kenmore Progressive (ranked behind the Hoover Anniversary WindTunnel and the Hoover Platinum Bagged, which are...

    New Model Kirby

Top Secret Kirby is more secretive than the Kremlin at keeping their new models under raps until they debut them. All of us have been dying to know what is coming as the Sentria is clearly at the end of it's run. They made significant changes in 1970 and 1990 so it is possible that this could...

What's Your Favorite (American) Hoover Junior?

1330 Interesting question. I was fairly young when the 1330 came out. Growing up in a typical American 60s home with a Hoover Convertible and an extended family with other Convertible models as well as Kirby's, I was fascinated by the small size of this that looked more like a toy to me (and a...

    Hoover T-Series Vacuum Cleaners!

"but, they don't look like HOOVERS at all" I have to disagree. The fork in the handle reminds me of the handle / bale on the Hoover 150, one of the most beloved vacuums of all times and definitely THE vacuum that set the stage for the next 50 years. I see this as a sign that Hoover is back on...

    Some finds this weekend..

Engrossed I am seriously engrossed in this story and I generally don't care about canisters. So is this a Royal machine? Clearly from the initial photos there is some connection. But can't tell from the story what the connection to Royal is. Chris

    Miele S7 Hose Issue... Again!

At least they seem initially responsive so that seems positive. I was curious how you are communicating with them. In case I ever have this problem with my S7. I took mine to my dealer today to repair the bag slot / mechanism that I broke off on Saturday and they were very adament about giving...

    Miele S7 Hose Issue... Again!

I agree Dave. I do own an S7. I don't have the hose problem, but it is going back to the dealer later today to have the bag mechanism repaired that came off when I changed the bag. I will ask what they are hearing about this hose problem here in the Pittsburgh area. And I will write to corporate...

    Hoover Model 305

Nice..... What a beautiful vacuum. I don't have any of these but we see so much of the 28 and 61 from this timeframe and I think the 305 is missing from the celebration of this era.

    Heard Anything

Watch them come out with a hard body bagless model (all plastic) that looks just like that thing that we see periodically that converts the current Kirby's to bagless. LOL Ok. take some smelling salts and a few deep breaths and try to revive yourself. I was kidding and I'm certain that won't...

    Heard Anything

There is always the chance that it could be a bigger change than we have seen recently. We're coming up on the 20 year anniversary of the G series. They had major design changes in 1970, 1990, maybe 2010? My Diamond is my favorite cleaner ever so I am not hoping for a change, just wondering.

3 weekends in a row now...

65 Not only does it have the trim around the headlight lens, but the motor housing looks to be in pretty good shape. I have my grandmother's 65 and nothing on it is original anymore and it lost the trim long before I got it. But what bothers me more about it is how warped and out of shape it...

    Holy Crap!

I'm thinking you will prefer this over the Saavy.

    Savvy?

I've had a Savvy for about 5 or 6 years and I have had good luck with it, despite the very negative reviews about durability that I also have seen. Mine has the original set up with the two brushrolls, but they eventually changed it to the standard one-brushroll because they had tons of problems...

Hoover Platinum Carpet Cleaner Cleaning Project

Amazing Andrew Hoover should hire you for their Marketing department. I also had great results with this machine this week, but my carpet is less than a year old and it is vacuumed a couple times a week with a Kirby Diamond. It has also been cleaned with a Hoover Agility. Despite that I was...

    Another good estate sale weekend...

That 63 looks better than most of my new vacuums. I do have to kind of laugh at that thick cord and plug.

do you use straight suction on carpet?

I believe that the Miele S7 recommends using only straight suction on looped berber carpeting. And based on my experience from using the S7 on looped berber, I have to agree with them as to the S7. Fortunately it's only one room and fortunately I have another vacuum that does not pull the loops out.

    Your favorite Hoover Convertible

I never get used to seeing what looks just like our US Convertible with that enormous plug. It looks so difficult to wrap the cord with that huge thing. But I never paid attention until this thread that the 652 Senior had the white handle and a handle grip which our Convertible did not get...

    Hoover Platinum Carpet Cleaner

Question now that a few days have passed Andrew, I was curious of your impression now that a few days have passed since you used it. In particular how the carpet feels with the rinse and better extraction features. I have a Hoover Agility, never their top of the line model. It is decent at...

    +++ AutoCare +++

Ok, Ok You're right Jack, I get a little carried away sometimes. I guess it is a great combination of many recent ammenities with, as you said, the esteemed Miele quality. And they are ammenities that the US Hoover and Kirby that I am most familiar with have not incorporated to date.
