    Central Vac attachments on Miele

There may be a solution . . . Hi Trav, I have information that I do not prefer to share on online as I do not wish my sources possibly abused by way of annoying calls. And also because, if I have to type a treatise on guerrilla shopping tactics I'd have to bang out something the length of War...

    Sturtevant Model 4 -- Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' . . .

This article about the discovery of a 104 year old vacuum turned up in my Google alerts this morning. Thought somebody might like to see it. Venson http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2108766/It-doesn-t-look-practical-108-year-old-vacuum-cleaner-rescued-scrap-heap-STILL-WORKS.html

    Tool Suction

I'd say no . . . Although the tool hose for those machines hooked up directly to the mouth of the fan chamber, the motors weren't powerful and the fans, not all that big. Their forte was carpeting and for both the Convertible, the Larks and some other brands of uprights I have strong...

    Rainbow D2 . . .

@goadie12 . . . Thanks for the reply Zach. Wish I could help but I've never seen a "chrome-dome" that accommodated a power nozzle with anything other than the three-prong receptacle that first came out. Venson

    Shop Vac with Power Nossle

@stricklybojack . . . "I suppose the wet/dry capability usually associated with shop vacs bodes against an electric power head capability..." I don't see why it should. They've got similar but more elaborate vacs that allow for hook-up to electric power tools that kick up dust, like sanders...

    Shop Vac with Power Nossle

@stricklybojack . . . Cool! Do you remember the one that Eureka used to sell ready made?

    Rainbow D2 . . .

Hi, Was there ever an adapter made to fit the chrome-dome Rainbows with the three-prong power nozzle outlet that allowed for reduction to a two-prong connection?

    Shop Vac with Power Nossle

Kenmore I think. . . I bet this guy has no problem with clogging. :) Kenmore for a time sold what was basically a shop vac nest in a solution holding tank as a rug cleaner. As always with Sears, it came in low-end, mid-range and "deluxe" versions. It's been a while, but I think one of the...

    Does the world need this???

@whirlpolf . . . Your attitude is great but would probably kill appliance sales here in the U.S. Unfortunately, I only got to see the larger part of Germany from a train window but I was in Munich (München) for a few weeks. That was where I first discovered the wonderful difference of...

Tristar CXL, DXL and Miracle Mate Mk1 and Platinum: What's the difference, really?

@countryguy . . . Thanks for the links Gary. Especially for the power nozzle Vortech has taken on. Looks like Wessel Werk and Sebo have the PN source sewed up. Venson

Tristar CXL, DXL and Miracle Mate Mk1 and Platinum: What's the difference, really?

@Sanifan . . . Hi, I would not advise a bag switch. The round TriStar outer bag may fit in your Miracle Mate but the round, wide-mouth disposable bag is all wrong. The bag compartment's cover might not close properly as it depends on its disposable bag's stiff cardboard cover to promote a...

Tristar CXL, DXL and Miracle Mate Mk1 and Platinum: What's the difference, really?

@countryguy . . . Hey Gary, I will certainly put you on the list as part of the "Intelligence" posse. PS -- Couldn't find an image of the Vortech filter I mentioned but I'm posting a shot of the new model anyway.

    Eureka powermite

@singingrainbow . . . In particular, wide price disparities have been most disturbing to me. Leaves you wondering which end is up. I'm seeing so much of a wide field of price difference lately -- not for comparable but the exact same item -- that I begin to wonder if anything is actually...

Tristar CXL, DXL and Miracle Mate Mk1 and Platinum: What's the difference, really?

@countryguy . . . Hi Gary, I didn't mind the weight of my Miracle Mate too much but I did opt to buy a 14-foot electrified hose from Shoettler (Patriot/Air Storm -- same fittings) to lessen having to move the machine around. Vortech always interested me because of the super-duper HEPA it has...

    Dirt-Digger Vacuum

Small observation . . . The cleaner's body is Electro-Hygiene derived -- which is what AirWay sold as its alternate canister. What confuses me are the attachments. Air-way hose -- yes -- but I did't get a full view of the rug nozzle. Also, the wands appear more to be chromed steel than aluminum.

    VDTA convention...

@trebor . . . Hi, Thanks for the VDTA convention info. I have been entertaining ideas of attempting to do online/virtual sales of vacuums that I deemed decent items that could be sold at reasonable prices re product and shipping. However, there don't seem to be many avenues for so singular a...

If I could talk to Aerus

@gsheen . . . Thanks, gsheen. I heard the same Kirby stories here last year. People bought them but ended up leaving them in the closet because they found them too complicated to handle. And they say we're all going broke . . .

If I could talk to Aerus

Question . . . How is it so many Sentrias -- relatively new machines -- are turning up for resale when they must have initially called for quite a large outlay of money to be bought? I don't know how it is in South Africa, but do any of our American DTD brands carry financing for their...

    which do you prefer

It's a split call here . . . Despite their revolving brushes, clean-air vacs usually have to be over-powered (10 amps, 12 amps) because their air paths can get pretty convoluted on the way from the floor to the bag chamber. A lot can get lost in the translation due to twists and turns and...
