US Hoover vacs with "UK RANGER" style hoods!

I never noticed that Benny. Very interesting indeed. What year was your UK Ranger made John? Perhaps it was an early model whereby they used a different handle before switching to the side facing bolt.

Will the current vacuum industry ever change to something like it used to be?

As I sit here in my armchair, directly next to me is my 1986 Hoover Junior U1104 which has a sticker on the handle proudly proclaiming "This one's made in Britain". Will we ever see that again from Hoover? No. It is my belief that any vacuum cleaner manufacturers who have moved production...

    Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Group Convention

Some great pictures there!! One day I may just attend one of these conventions, there is just the small matter of crossing the "pond"!

US Hoover vacs with "UK RANGER" style hoods!

It isn't just vacuums though Anthony, I find that our cars from the 60s and 70s were very boring compared to the Cadillacs et al that were made in America during those decades.

WHAT WOULD life be like with out bagless vacuum's

I could not agree more with your statement John.    The truth is, nobody can say 100% truthfully what may have been if Mr. Dyson hadn't came out of the woodwork in 1993, but lets face it - we all here know enough about the vacuum cleaner industry to have a fair idea that things would be a...

A very sad day for me

I am surprised it lasted that long... Sorry, I had to say it.

    The $1,000,000 Vacuum Cleaner

I could think of many other vacuums I'd buy if I had that kind of money hanging around!! Then again, if it was a Hoover, who knows what I'd do!

Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

I think Hoover still have quite a good reputation due to the history of them being one of, if not the most popular brand of vacuum cleaner in the 20th century and thus, what most people's parents owned.  Therefore, people will be inclined to buy them these days as it is what they were brought up...

    Amazon UK listings

That is very interesting, and not too bad a price either!!  I may have to keep an eye out on Amazon as well as eBay now since they seem to sell the odd vintage(ish) vacuum too.

    Hoover Junior U1650

Forgot you ordered a Hoover?  I'm sure that deserves some sort of punishment!!

Dyson Is At It Again - Court Action

And whilst Dyson are suing Miele, they are banging on about their "lifetime filters"!  I hope Mr. Dyson has double glazing in that glass house of his.

    More Kenmore Whispertone EVPC Pics...

It is such a shame we never had such advanced vacuum cleaners here in the UK, but then again even if we did (and to be fair there were a couple which were high-spec) they would never have been as popular due to our smaller homes and preference for smaller machines which could be stowed away in...

What's the best Straight suction Cylinder/Canister vacuum?

Personally the best straight suction cylinder vacuum cleaner for me is the Numatic.  On the Hi speed setting it has more than enough suction to carry out even the most extensive tasks - after all, that is what it was designed for.

Sebos reaction to the new EU regulaitons on vacuum wattage!?

I think it is asinine because Sebo are promoting a tag line which insinuates that the new EU regulations on motor wattage will result in worse performing vacuum cleaners.  Surely they should be stating the contrary!   Perhaps I am getting the wrong end of the stick, but that's how it looks...

    new hoover turbopowers FOR SALE

OK children, that's enough.  I have reported this thread and truly hope it is deleted as it is a disgrace to the vacuum community.   Can you imagine if a new member or guest came onto the forum and this was the first thing they saw?  What would they think?

Sebos reaction to the new EU regulaitons on vacuum wattage!?

I am astonished a brand as big and successful as Sebo could be so utterly... ASININE!!  There is no other word for it.
