Dyson DC55 Total Clean - Review and impressions

I then sucked the dirt from the front room carpet back up (testing out the new soft dusting brush) and vacuumed the rest of the house. Again, I'd given everywhere a going over with the Kirby yesterday. This is what I got from the rest of the house combined with what you've just seen from the...

Dyson DC55 Total Clean - Review and impressions

Right. So. First use. Suction is very impressive for a 700w motor. Machine seems much quieter than the original DC41, and it generates very little heat in comparison. Going from using the Kirby as a daily driver to this the machine seems nice and compact and very easy to steer around things...

Dyson DC55 Total Clean - Review and impressions

M first impression is that the brush roll is VERY stiff. I mean it's like Dyson gave it viagra. The little velvet type strips around the floor plate for hard floor performance are a nice touch, however it won't be long till they're worn away to nothing.

Dyson DC55 Total Clean - Review and impressions

I had two and a half old DC07's in the shed, so I made one machine from all the good bits, and one machine from all the bad bits. The bad machine I used as a trade in. Dyson have a nationwide offer on at the moment where you can trade in your old machine. I got £100 for the DC07, meaning I only...

Dyson DC55 Total Clean - Review and impressions

So I've seen quite a few people banging on about how great the mk2 DC40's and 41's are. I'm not a huge Dyson fan, but I'm not a Dyson hater either. I do think bag is best. Of their recent machines I've had the 'original' DC41 Animal and also a DC39 Animal. Overall the DC41 wasn't a BAD...

new Miele C3 Celebration w/powernozzle available in the UK

I DO like the idea of the cable being on the outside of the hose. Looking at the bigger picture should there ever be an issue it will be much cheaper to replace just the cable, rather than the high cost of a new electric hose. That said however I think the price of Miele spares is a tad high...

    Kirby Tech Drive

Oh I agree it's heavy to lift. But with the drive in gear theres no effort required to actually use one

Have you ever gone without washing Dyson filter(s)?

In respose to the original question, that Dyson filter looks perfectly fine to me. If thats 6 months of use on it I'd say it was good for another 6 months before performance will even start to be reduced. I maintain a DC07 that is used commercially and the filter looks like that after just one...

    Kirby Tech Drive

The brush roll has multiple rows of brushes. No beater bars. But as you can hear it agitates the carpet and makes the floor vibrate like nothing else. They feel like huge awkward machines when you first use one compaired to a 'normal' plasic vacuum, but used as a daily driver for a bit you...

    Kirby Tech Drive

Some of you may of already seen a bit of a disagreement in another thread regarding Kirbys being difficult to use on flat carpets when little airflow is allowed to pass through the floor. 'Useless' was the exact wording. If you haven't seen it, see thread #27681. Sebo Automatic X1 1997...

I brought up your mum's Sebo did I? Please see reply #2.

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

Regarless of what people think of Kirby the main issue here is Chris and his inaccurate claims. So far he has backtracked from the Kirby tearing up two rugs to it briefly being used on one rug, yet the bag contents show no evidence of any rug shreddings. It's also gone from being useless, to...

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

I think you'll find i did use it whilst at your house, even if it was very briefly, as I clearly remember commenting how easily it glided over loop pile flooring with the tech drive in neutral compared to cut pile carpet. I guess you weren't paying attention at that point. Just like I clearly...

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

"It was totally useless on our carpets and just ripped the 2 shag rugs to bits" I'm merely pointing out your 'slight' exaggeration. I noticed no issue at all with the weight of the machine, nor did I notice any rugs being ripped to bits. Just like your claim of your mum currently having a Sebo...

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

In regard to the shredded rugs, please see the contents of the bag from your house. Some cat hair, some fuzz from your cream loop pile carpets and a respectable amount of sand. No brightly coloured rug shreddings. Everyone is welcome to voice their opinion, just don't go making false claims...

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

"On one height setting, it was skimming the carpet and the next one down it was glued too it. There was no inbetween. It was totally useless on our carpets and just ripped the 2 shag rugs to bits" I'm sorry but I seem to of developed memory issues. You clearly said it was useless on your...

    Sebo automatic X1 1997

I've not posted on this site for a while now but something has got my goat so I'm going to have my say - regardless of what day it is. Merry Christmas everyone BTW. I paid a lot for my Kirby as I bought it new from the dealer, and I feel I must make a few corrections as I feel some rather...

    Bagged VS Bagless

This isn't Dyson bashing. Its about bagged VS bagless and the time it takes for care for each type of machine. Bagless could be Dyson, Hoover, Vax ect ect If anything I've tried to be kind to bagless and chosen the Dyson. Had I chosen a direct filter bagless... Say an Electrolux Vitesse you...
