    Eureka ESP curb find

@1926700: I am aware that the instructions you posted are for servicing a "pancake motor." Could you post instructions on how to perform the same services on a "blender motor?"

    Outer bag wire holder

Are you talking about the bag spring or the bag latch? You might be able to find a bag spring on eBay, or you could ask a Hoover collector.

    1984 Dyson Pink Prototype

That is a very interesting vacuum cleaner! It looks like the bagless version of a Regina Housekeeper Heavy Duty 3000.

TERRIBLE SMELL FROM HOOVER CONVERTIBLE MOTOR!

@kirbyvertibles There is only one way that the housing which houses the carbon brushes go in, and I put it back on the correct way. @hoover28: The armature and the commutator are the same thing, are they not? Should I first spray brake cleaner on the area of the armature where the carbon...

Since we have the battle of the Eureka brushrolls . . .

@kirbyclassiciii: I could see some sense in being private, but he used to be on this site all the time, and he provided such great advice!

Since we have the battle of the Eureka brushrolls . . .

It sounded like a pancake motor, but I wasn't sure so I thought I would ask. Speaking of Jeff Parker, I noticed that he hasn't been on Vacuumland in a long time! I wonder what happened to him?

Since we have the battle of the Eureka brushrolls . . .

I also have a question: Which type of motor was used on the model 271 from the late 1960s?

    Vintage Vacuums you LUST AFTER!!!!

Is anyone interesting in talking on a metal Hoover Convertible, like the models I have posted earlier in this thread? @vacbear58: I just love that commercial! It is hilarious, in my opinion!

Since we have the battle of the Eureka brushrolls . . .

How about a battle of the Eureka motors! Which is your favorite Eureka upright motor? My favorite is the 4-amp "blender motor."

TERRIBLE SMELL FROM HOOVER CONVERTIBLE MOTOR!

I got a second opinion from an electrician who recommended that I lightly sand the ends of the brushes and the top area of the armature with a very fine sandpaper. Do you think this is a good idea? If not, does anyone have a good, used, genuine (not aftermarket) armature that would fit this motor?

TERRIBLE SMELL FROM HOOVER CONVERTIBLE MOTOR!

I have cleaned the area of the armature where the brushes make contact with clean, dry paper towels. Is there anything else that you would recommend me doing to reduce or prevent any safety hazards?

    Eureka ESP curb find

GREAT FIND! I think that you should just check the motor bearings. I am not an expert on lubricating them but, for now, take the motor apart and check the bearings.

    Convertible snagging rugs

OH!! I WONDER IF . . . the new brushroll was different from the original, in which case it might not be working for your machine. You should try to find someone on this site who has an ORIGINAL brushroll for this model.

@gottahaveahoove: I love those Hoovers you have! It looks like some of them need new light bulbs, but nonetheless, you just can't beat those Hoovers!

    Vacuum Motors with Adjustable Wattage

The older Hoover Convertibles made from 1957 until the early 1970s had two speeds. The wattage at low speed for carpets was 420, while the high speed wattage when the converter is inserted into the rear was 625.
