In Honor of US Armed Forces Day

Very cool, Alex, and thoughtful of SEBO to honor America's patriotism. I would guess that it also made them in flag motifs for other countries in their sales markets. Creative and ingenious marketing, too. A shout out, to the 109th U.S. Flag Day commemorating its June 14, 1777, adoption as...

    1997 Euroclean Professional Series PS12

Good afternoon! Attached is a 2002 parts list from vacshopusa.com. The PS16 is the wide track version. Here's a link to another thread that gives some background of the Euroclean brand: https://vacuumland.org/threads/old-euroclean-vacuum.21579/

Need help identifying where this part came from on my Electrolux PN6 power head

Glad you got it! Maybe the retainer has something to do with the spring-loaded axle.

Need help identifying where this part came from on my Electrolux PN6 power head

It looks like you have it, although I would think it would snap in place and not just sit loose. I have no way of accessing mine at the moment, but maybe someone else can do so and will confirm or reveal something else.

Need help identifying where this part came from on my Electrolux PN6 power head

On closer examination, I think the part is #13 on the schematic, a shaft retainer.

Need help identifying where this part came from on my Electrolux PN6 power head

The attached schematic lacks that part. I wonder, then, if it's what I call a brush roll rung - that allows it to spin above the nap. Except for the commercial upright nozzles, Electrolux switched to plastic ones circa 1990, which is what the schematic features. I think your power nozzle is a...

    Eureka F & G "Apples" Set

Should've mentioned that "apples" is my nick for the set.

    Eureka F & G "Apples" Set

Also known as the "Imperials" with the "Mod" bags in some ads as a promotional set in the early 1970s. I give you red (2020-RR), golden (2010-RY), and green (2044-RG) deliciousness in online photos. I know that Eureka used a "Rallye Gold" enamel around that time, so it may be that these were...

    1981 Sanitaire SC686A

Congratulations, VacmanSpencer1982; looks like it's it's been well-maintained. Hopefully you'll find an original-style bag for it. Btw, even though the base is stamped 1981, that is technically only when the base was made—at least that's how Eureka operated. That's not to say the complete...

    Eureka model 2061 D

Hi Ben, That's what my research indicates, too. Btw, the model-type 2061-A was one of the first Type As to be equipped with the 6.5-amp motor that succeeded the 6.0-amp one. Here is an ad from the 1981 Sep 15 issue of the SARASOTA HERALD-TRIBUNE:

(1970) Eureka model 238F automatic upright vacuum.

Congratulations! You seem to have a good working knowledge of vintage Eurekas based on your photos (thank you for posting them). In case you are unaware, the 238-F was one of the last of the 200 Series to be made. It began in 1947 with the S-246 and was produced for 25 years; being phased out...

Discovery Plus Gets a New Lease on Life

I agree about the Electrolux "twin cleaner" benefits and usage of the Sidekick. Also, I remember the thread in which you mentioned the Sidekick adapter.

Any info on GE Cleaner AVT701?

Just noticed that I got the color schemes mixed up, so the 1939 ad is presumably for the AVT701, and the 1947 one likely shows the AVT150.

Any info on GE Cleaner AVT701?

G-E USA & Canada introduced their new "Airflo" tank-type cleaners in late 1939 according to newspaper ads and consumer reports from an electronic database. I'm unsure if both countries' models & IDs were identical, but the model ID and motor ratings of the US's was the AVT150 and 500-watts...

Any info on this vintage carpet extractor?

Invented by Fred E. Hays in 1964 I did some online research and discovered these (there were later newspaper ads, too): 1-3. US Patent filed in 1964 (usually indicates the beginning of production) & granted in 1966 4. CA & US trademarks (March 25, 1969 OFFICIAL GAZETTE OF THE USPO) 5-6. 1966...
