Damage from using it as a blower

@mmcphee. if its like the G5. no problem . Its only the Sentria I and II and avalir styles that are too restrictive. one can just use a drill bit and make the opening much better for airflow. @kirby519. it was stated that under 10 minutes did that. I kinda wonder about that...

Damage from using it as a blower

Here are some pics & an explanation of what can happen to your kirby fan when using the machine as a blower with the supplies nozzle guard from a kirby technician of 40 years. “ This is the result of using the air intake nozzle on the sentrie and later kirby when in the blower mode. Completely...

    Kirby Avalir 2

I prefer the handle of the Sentria's over the Avalirs. I find the later are too narrow/small, interesting to hear many others' comments to the contrary.

Did your friends/family love uprights and dislike canisters or vice versa?

very interesting topic I think my family has more affinity for canisters/tanks. I"m amazed that I can't recall any vacuum we used ( extended family used canisters too) past our Elux 1205....truly...and its so odd....a complete blank in my memory from around '84-99. I prefer an upright...but...

    bearings in bulk purchase?

I seem recall someone in the past posted about buying the bearings for older Kirbys ( I"m sure they were used in other vacuums as well) that were in 'bulk' ie.. 5-10 of them for way cheaper than purchasing individuals. Can anyone help me with this?

    F&G conversion bags

dysonman1 Thanks for the info on HEPA style F&G bags! I didn't know that! I have a Royal or two with that set up, and now I'll get some HEPA for it! I find the airflow stays strong so much longer than the original paper bags PS: all I can find on Amazon is 'micro lined' or micro filtration ...

Does anyone know about Filter Queens?

fan-of-fans The powerbeads used to have a 'headlight'....well, they didn't a long time ago, then they did...then they didn't. weird why they went away from them. I've got two ( bought one for $10 and put some work into it and the other for $5 w/o any accessories/wand/pn) Emptying them is the...

Advice on purchasing A filter Queen

I like the FQ b/c, like the rainbow, I get to see what was picked up when I empty it or just lift off the motor to peer in. Filtering quality is quite good, I serviced mine completely when I bought it...used it a good amount, and the filters are so clean afterwards. I'm with Dysonman1, like...

    Kirby Carpet Shampoo System

@turbomaster1984. ( I like your screen name, clever!). one reason , beyond what the others have mentioned with delicate/natural fibers for rugs/upholstery, is that one may very well NOT want another vacuuming device that takes up room in one's closet vs a small attachment that appears to get...

    Kirby Carpet Shampoo System

@vaccumdevil. how much water lift you do suppose is needed ( knowing that the Kirby has superb amount of airflow) to actually pick up dried foam crystals? you make is sound like its completely anemic and might not even be able to pick up minor particles like that?

    First Electrolux since childhood

here's more of a look I don't have another bag yet, so I can't test that. See from the photos...is this G missing anything that would help it to seal better?

    First Electrolux since childhood

after looking at this again, I see no problem as to why its not sealing better. Why would that gap be there in-between the housing and the door, yet, when I force that lid/door all the way to the housing, the suction loss increases.
