    Blue Magic Metal Cream Polish

Hey Guys! Has anyone ever used or heard of Blue Magic Metal Cream Polish? I discovered it one day while searching online for a really good true and tried aluminum polish. I was interested in this for a particular machine--you all should know which one(s) I am thinking of. Truthfully, it does...

    Royal Model 606

Royal 611 Ben, Believe it or not I think that the model 611 was a non-repairable motor for the most part. In other words, the sleeve bearing were designed for longer-life but once they were worn, replacing the bearing was a very remote option. I had been told that many Royal motors are very...

    Miele?

Speaking of...Mieles Does anyone have any spare/extra attachments for a Flamenco II or an S280i series canister? I am particularly looking for the retractable wand plastic parking bracket that pulls out from the wand.

Kirby Heritage II won't turn on

It could be as simple as the motor brushes. Check them first. Or it could possibly be the speed switch controller in the front of the machine.

NOS Kirby Attachments Dilemma : To Use or Not To Use?

And the other saying is.... Use it or lose it! This is so true. I have had motors seize slightly because of non-use, and I have had machines discolor regardless of non-use. Parts will become brittle over time, cloth bags will fray and will dry rot over time even if they were stored near...

NOS Kirby Attachments Dilemma : To Use or Not To Use?

I agree with Tom..! Use and enjoy your machines! I say the same thing---when I am gone my machines are going to end up in the dumpster because my nieces and nephews are not going to want anything to do with them. And, yea, go ahead and put them on ebay brand new and in the box....you may get a...

The Connection Between Vacuums and Sewing Machiness

Owning a sewing machine...and our fascination with them It was necessary to own a sewing machine in days gone past because it was customary for a housewife to make clothes for herself and the children as it was more cost effective. Store bought clothing was generally considered a luxury. Men on...

Repairing Hoover Outer Bags with Snaps

Also, does anyone have one to spare in their parts bin? Hey Guys! I need a small but necessary part to my Hoover model 4019 lower handle. It's the lower handle retainer plate-the plate that goes before the large screw to stabilize and secure the handle in place. Not the silver handle bail...

Repairing Hoover Outer Bags with Snaps

Does anyone have a newly discovered method for repairing Hoover outer bag snaps that either were pulled out of their "socket" or ripped to the edge? Here are my thoughts so far: I thought about sewing a strip of vinyl on the inside of the bag edges and then reattaching new snaps with a snap...

    Electrolux Epic Cordwinder

Hey Guys! Does anyone have any tips on how to "jumps start" an Electrolux Model Epic cord winder to retracting once again? The cord is pulled out all the way with no play. I tried lifting it an inch off of the ground and letting it drop lightly to see if I could pop "release" the spring (?)...

    Hoover PortaPower model 1075-060

Hey Guys! I have a Hoover PortaPower model 1075-060 and I suspect that this may be a common problem for these units particularly these models and to which I have no solution. The hose constantly pops out. It unscrews and pops out! Now this one is almost like brand new and you can see it...

Ben you are correct... but the old belt is still available the last time I checked with my vendor.

    Belt for Kirby 519

Do Not... Do not use a Kirby belt on a Royal. Use Kirby belts on Kirbys only. Use Royal belts on Royals only. The wrong tension caused by the wrong belt will damage that front bearing on many Royals and of which some of those bearings are now discontinued. Royal also makes a knurled belt...

    Belt for Kirby 519

Grey belts... Grey belts are no longer made. They have been re-engineered and are now called soft black. They are readily available at vac shops or least should be!

    Question about Royal 408

Cord Halos Here's a tip guys! I have used screen door splining material which is found in your local hardware stores. Simply make a slit in the tubing with an Exacto knife and attach after putting a thin layer of contact cement like PLIOBOND. This works particularly well on the Eureka Rotomatics.

    Electrolux XXX low suction

After-market Electrolux Dusting Brushes From what your link points to, this is for the entire brush complete. If so, these are after-market dusting brushes that work absolutely fine--in fact, there is almost no difference. And for the difference in price it's a no-brainer! Buy it! You won't go...

    Kirby Model 510

Hey Guys! Can any of the other Kirby experts tell me if a model 510 is capable of using the 10-metal blade fan? Originally, this model came with the 6-blade metal fan. And, how difficult is it to replace the bearings on this particular model?
