I have a stupid question about the Lewytt. How is the hose electrified? I don't see any connectors, or cords. I don't see any connectors to the cleaning wands. How does the electric motor work? I hope that makes sense.

I'm loosing either way.  I bid on a new hose for my Rainbow.  The hose I use for my shampooer has a small crack and I wanted to replace the hose. I saw one on E-bay and placed the bid and I'm already loosing. LOL   I'll keep looking.  I'll get my Blue Kenmore.  It's just a matter of time.

I'm not a fan of uprights but the Aerus/Electrolux I would own without any thought.  My grandma had one like that and it was a great vacuum.

You have to look at this from a different standpoint. There could be a couple of different ways to look at this.  One of them could be. -How old is your sister?  If she is still young and just getting started she maybe thinking about the financial side.  Money could be tight and she is trying...

A upright Rainbow could be possible.  It's just a matter of figuring out how to work with the added attachments like the carpet shampooer.

I will always swear by Rainbow.  Nothing will ever change that.  However I just can't see myself purchasing a brand new model.  The D4C will always be my favorite model.  The new models look nice and I'm sure do a great job, but you just go with what you like.

My mom had one of these but the cord for the power head was external and strapped to the hose.  She hated this vacuum. With in six months the power nozzle burnt up and the plastic tubes would not stay together.  We had to duct tape tubes. That was the last canister she had.
