    Kirby Model c bumper trim

Mike Your right but the new tan trim I noticed are a little shorter than the older red ones and the red might fit better and be easier to work with on the older C style nozzle. I agree if the tan ones will work that would be a better way to go. I have never replaced the trim on a C style...

    Kirby Model c bumper trim

Bumper trim David, I have a new bumper trim painted black or a few original red trim bumpers that are a little longer that you could paint black. If you give me your address in a privet message, I'd be more than happy to send one your way, or you could use what Les suggested link below. Jim...

    Kenmore Automatic Part 2

Thanks Thanks Barry! I thought I would take some pictures of the Automatic with its hose attachment. I found a Sears catalog advertisement that it said came from a 1948 issue. It shows the attachment set. With the brown Bakelite cover Kenmore. Someone tried to seal it better using gasket goop...

    Kirby model C help

David your right! There is no doubt this was altered these early Kirby nozzles did not come this way originally. For such a rare find it's too bad that it got updated to use the belt lifter. Nice find Kelton! Jim

    Kirby model C help

David If that's the case, then sadly it has been altered, having said that it appears to have been done at the factory. It's hard to tell without getting a closer look at it. I'm sure there would be some kind of tool marks on it if it had been done by a vacuum shop. The notches are in the right...

    Kirby model C help

Interesting Kelton, I noticed the two notches on the nozzle of yours one at 1 o'clock and the other at 5 o'clock. My model C with the light doesn't have any notches for the first black belt cap? Picture 4 shows another model C with the notch at 12 o'clock and I believe it also has a notch at 6...

    Early Kenmore Deluxe

Thanks Kevin, Thanks for doing that...can't wait to see it. I just had a eBay seller send me the vacuum ad from the 1942 Sears spring/summer Catalog, and it was not what I was expecting to see. She said it was the only vacuum ad in that catalog.

    Early Kenmore Deluxe

Interesting find After getting the copy of the 1935 Sears catalog page showing the Kenmore Deluxe from Jeff, I decided to buy a copy of the 1936 Sears spring/summer Catalog which also shows the Kenmore Deluxe as their top Vacuum model for that year. I always thought the Kenmore Imperial came...

    My Kirby 509

phased out Adam, Interesting, they haven't been phased out here yet in the states, but maybe I should pick up a few extra just in case. Also, a 15-watt light if you can find one doesn't burn that hot to be a problem....good luck I hope you can find one that will work for you. Jim

    My Kirby 509

But Les, I don't consider new rivets and new bearings or belts as "upgrades" just replacements to me there is a difference, but again that's just me. If you like the look of the LED's I get that it's a personal preference. The fact that they last longer is not a big deal to me, after all how...

    My Kirby 509

LED Why use LED lights? You can find and buy the 15 or 25-watt incandescent appliance lights all day long. Having said that I'm very much old school. Old style lights, for an old style vacuum. Jim

    Kenmore Automatic Part 2

This is more like it. I got my Automatic changed over with the Automatic original parts I bought. All I did was clean the parts up, I did not repaint the handle it was in good condition for this old vac, and again I wanted to keep it as original as possible. The bag cleaned up nicely but did...

    Kenmore Automatic Part 2

Thanks kirbylux77 Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. Personally, I must say that I think Kyle's work is better than mine, I love his work but thank you again. I don't like selling on eBay any longer with the new $600.00 tax rule. I'm only interested in restoring these vac's for my own...

    Kenmore Automatic Part 2

As some of you may know I have a Kenmore Automatic that I restored using two Kenmore's to complete one. I just got another Automatic that I bought for parts. This old Automatic has everything I needed to bring mine as close to original as I can. I needed the handle with the handle grip intact...

    Early Kenmore Deluxe

You were right! Hoover300 You were right when you said "Looks like you need the black trim automatic" I won that Automatic and it will be on the way here soon. I bought another Kenmore to complete my Automatic, witch came without a bag, and the original black handle grip was damaged as was...

    Apollo Upright

Interesting This is the only Apollo I have seen since buying mine. These are very rare. I would love to know the history of the Apollo company. Was it a department store? I have never seen an advertisement for one. These were made by the Brittman company. Pictured is my Apollo. Jim
