    Antique TUEC Stationary Cleaner

I would like to find one of the wall outlets for my Tuec. (I want to put a fake piece of wall behind the machine with it on it for display)

Bonjour xaxa17. Je viens de Moose Jaw, Sk, Canada. (Pardonnez mon français, il n'est pas bon) J'ai deux modèles Vorwerk 115 dans ma collection ainsi que de nombreux Electrolux européens ( www.smithcollection.altervista.org

    Got an Electrolux LX

I saved these pictures from an Ebay sale. This would be the Rebuilt Gold machine mentioned as the Economy Rebuilt model above

    Got an Electrolux LX

Another one from a 178 Aldens Catalogue - you can see the painted end and name plate in this one.

    Got an Electrolux LX

From the 1979 Aldens Catalogue. These are the parts they sold with the rebuilt machines. The LX is the Delux machine referred to in the write up.

    Got an Electrolux LX

Yep - Plus, because they put cheap plastic new attachments with the machines, they polished and sold the rug nozzles, floor nozzles and small nozzles separately to shops as spare parts. I can remember the floor nozzles still being listed as available in the 1990s.

    Got an Electrolux LX

You also have to keep in mind how they rebuilt these machines. They werent done one at a time. They would strip down a whole batch of machines and disgard all the broken / worn out parts. Repaint what they wanted repainted. Then build the machines from that. So you could easily have parts...

    Some Accessories

The biggest problem I find is trying to find parts for the lesser known brands. Eg I have been trying to find parts for a President (apex) vacuum or part for Switson machines.

I always try to make my machines as original as possible. So I am always looking for parts for them. If possible I like to have the original hoses as well just for display. A new one can be used if the machine is to be used. As far as boxes of spare attachments at thrift stores that seems to...

    Eureka Tank Vacuums

It should be noted that Eatons often made deals with manufacturers for "cheaper" machines that used up their old stock of parts. In this case we see the 700 style body but with the older style handle and with the grey parts that were used with the rotomatic.

    Eureka Tank Vacuums

Since this was originally posted I have picked up another interesting machine to go with it. This is a 1952 Apex model 710. Made by Eureka for the T. Eaton Co in Canada.

Let's see your favorite Electrolux cleaners

Hmm thats a very difficult one to say. Too many favorites but I think these would have to top the list - US 12A, US XXX (Blue), Canadian Z54, Canadian ZB88, English ZC90, English ZA77, English Z303 and the English Volta U133

Electrolux White Dusting Brush & White Wall Brush

Just to update this - the white brushes must have been around until the Silverado was out as I have come across this picture of them and have actually managed to get one of the dusting brushes.

    Electrolux ZC90

Hey Paul Re bag lock out - no they dont. Also the bag full indicator on these machines whistled to tell you it was full instead of turning off the machine like the north american ones did.

    Electrolux ZC90

Hey Paul. Honestly I think they just used the designators running through the alphabet. The original machines were the same design through the various plants with only minor changes (Like the model 12). When they started to make significant changes to the design (yet were still based on that...

    Electrolux ZC90

Re Pauls observation - yes this would be a ZC90a. Mine is a ZC90b. The series designator after the model number showed a variation of the original model. In this case the a and b had different hose connections.

    Electrolux ZC90

Just an FYI - Clear heat shrink IS available - but it would make the hose very stiff if you did the whole thing. Interesting - I have never seen that hose connector in person but it sounds like the US style connector. Re the Z numbers I believe they denoted variations of the machines. Just a...
