    Ahh roomba

I never have gotten why so many people here hate these things... They're meant for daily maintenance, not to get all the grit out of the damn carpet. Let's face it, most people (consumers) aren't gonna vacuum everyday, hell even I as a collector have many things I'd rather do than vacuum daily...

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

I'm... Amazed they still use that brushroll. That style I'm pretty sure started with the original Elites, and some PN equipped canisters, then to the WT series of machines, then the first Elite Rewind, and now in this series of machines. I would've expected them to switch to something crappier...

    Felix, unplugged

"Frail European..." As opposed to what? An obese American dying of heart failure from too much fried food?

    UGGHHHH Ebay purchase

"Fishy bread sticks"... I don't think I'll ever get that image/smell combo out of my mind now...

    Fantom FM788HC

You're... Very welcome! I had almost entirely forgotten about these machines and the videos before this post. I nearly bought a NIB blue one many years back off Amazon, they're such pretty machines.

    Fantom FM788HC

Here... They are, I thought I wouldn't be able to find them for a while. My archives are a mess. So there's a color I forgot about a lavender/purple color, and two separate demo videos.

    Fantom FM788HC

It... Is indeed. I'm pretty sure I have the HSN video from when Google Video (not YT) was still around. That's how I know about this machine, if I can find it I'll upload the video to my YT channel and post a link back here.

    Fantom FM788HC

They... Do clean very well for what they are, they've got a very aggressive metal brushroll similar to what you see on higher end Riccar and Simplicity canisters and Tandem Air uprights.

    Fantom FM788HC

It's... A machine made after Euro-Pro bought the rights to the Fantom name after Fantom went bankrupt. The machine if I remember correctly was either built by, or at least based on the design of a Sanyo bagless machine. Mainly the Sanyo Dirt Hunter series. This was an HSN specific commercial...

    Kenmores on eBay

They're... Always doing that. I have no idea why but eBay is always highly populated with the lightly used "floor models". No idea where all of them are coming from, but they're always there when you look.

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

I Have... The same brush, making what I'd bet is the same noise. I'm thinking it's just a bad bearing somewhere in the tool. Best course of action is probably just replacing the entire thing. There's one on eBay now for $15 with free shipping. I doubt you could even replace any of the parts in...

    OceanBlue?

Don't... Just don't. I looked at this company and their machines a while back. They had a website (now gone), and youtube demos uploaded of the machine. It seems like a simple copy of an older Rainbow design the D4. Your best option is to get a refurbished Rainbow from a reputable store like...

    Miele S2-Any Concerns?

I... Bought an S2 Delphi from BB&B years ago after taking home a demo S5 with the SEB228. I love the S2 in comparison to the S5 series, it's smaller and lighter, easier to work with. Out of all of the Miele line up it's my favorite series, I don't think you could pick a better machine to get...

In the market for a bagless canister vacuum

If... I could get an unlimited supply of parts my Lightning would be the only machine I'd use... Amazing how well it cleans for how little air flow it has and how soft the brushroll bristles are. With the mini powerhead and large canister that compacts dirt well it's perfect for my home with...

In the market for a bagless canister vacuum

I'd say... Skip the Hoovers unless you can get your hands on the older Elite Cyclonic. I'd suggest either the Lux from the above post, or the Ultra Active. Just be prepared for more filter cleaning than the Ultra Captic.

    Bissell Bolt

I've... Seen the Jimny over in the UK, it's amazing how little that vehicle has changed over the years. That would be one of the first things I'd purchase should I ever more to the UK or any other country that sells it. They aren't built for speed, but the overall stability for how short...

    Bissell Bolt

First... Was on the oh so famous Samurai instability. Gave Suzuki massive issues in the US for years as inane people latched on to it. Then later with Isuzu . It's especially pathetic with the Samurai as it was actually one of the most stable vehicles of the round tested at the time. Also...

    Bissell Bolt

Yes... CR is far and away a better testing set up. I still don't think they should ever be trusted after their history of at least two rigged tests that I know of.

    Bissell Bolt

All... Of the tech review companies have started doing this. For some reason they think it's a great idea to start doing reviews on a field they have no knowledge of. It's especially evident with machines like this and robotic vacuums and mops (Roomba, Scooba, Neato etc.) When they lay out...

Dyson Radial Root Cyclone Doesn't Work Very Well!

They all seem to do this... The DC39 I have to clean other machines had it's filter covered in grit, never fine dust for some reason but grit. My DC50 with the newer dual tier cyclones looks exactly the same as your DC40. I wish I could get a Fantom again, filtration wasn't the best, but the...
