    Re: Electrolux Tank Cleaner Front/Rear:

Tank vacuum cleaner design It's not a big deal, but I see Steves point. Take the Electrolux model LX. The cordwinder looks like a head and the hose looks like a tail.

    Wow! what a great ad....

Movies Another movie comes to mind. "Come Blow Your Horn." Mom is seen holding a Hoover Pixie in the last fifteem minutes of the film. And how about "Good Neighbor Sam" where the handle of a giant upright vacuum cleaner is used as a pariscope?

Does anybody use their Kirbys to shampoo carpets?

The real reason for the Rug Renovator The various features like the Rug Renovator, Miracle Head, spray gun, crystalator and Handi-Butler were all designed to 'close the sale.' Kirby WAS designed as a vacuum cleaner but the carpet shampoo process DID dazzle the customer and did in fact close...

    Electrolux LX ejector

The Electrolux model LX It looks like I'm going to have to do a bit of training on the workings of the Electrolux model LX. Before I do let me say that I don't think there is any way to slow down the ejection process other than with the key or the dial in the front cover assembly. Now on to the...

    Electrolux LX ejector

Electrolux Model LX Dear Charles Richard thank you for the kind words, but I'm the winner here. I have a model LX in perfect condition except that it has a front cover assembly with that dial. This way I can help a club member and put my Electrolux in it's original condition. I guess it's a...

    Electrolux LX ejector

Electrolux Model LX John: If you want to trade the front cover assembly for one with the dial I can do that. Please send me an email and we can swap all I ask is that you pay the return postage.

    What is this?

Frankenkirby As a former Kirby trainer I have to agree with the rest of the gang, that is what we in the business called "a bastardized rebuild!" My suggestion is save the money, not worth it.

That new Kirby shine -- what's the secret?

Polishing up a Kirby One of the best things I've found so far is Mothers chrome cleaner. Rub it on, wipe it off and the shine is amazing. To protect that shine follow up with Mothers mag and wheel polish. Another trick if you have one, is the Kirby Handi-Butler. A buffing pad over the polishing...

    Vacuum of the day

How nice to see the ad for the Hoover Floor Washer. Not only do I have one of these, but I use it on a regular basis. What most of you don't know is that it was designed for Hoover by Don Krammas, husband of Stacy Krammas former director of the Hoover Historical Center. Another little known...

    Vintage Vacuums for cleaning house

Vintage machines As for the old stuff, my non-electrics of 1870-1920, I never use them. From time to time I put one of my Kirby Vacuettes to use, and use my Electrolux LX on a regular basis. As I have a love of old uprights I use my Electro-Hygiene circa 1930 to clean the kitchen and hardwood...

Does anybody use their Kirbys to shampoo carpets?

Kirby Rug Renovator As a former Kirby trainer I can tell you that most people have trouble with saturating the carpet. Our trainees did it all the time! The term we used was "laying down the suds." The point is to start with the toe-touch controll at the lowest setting. The higher you go the...

Does anybody use their Kirbys to shampoo carpets?

Kirby Rug Renovator YES! Not only did I use carpet shampooing as a way for my trainees to get in to demo but made a good living with the Kirby shampoo system on a private basis. It's not for deep cleaning, or stain removal, but for light shampooing of apartment models, and so on it works great.

    LUX

Electrolux I have to put my two cents in here. I also like the term Electrolux and NEVER use simply "Lux!" But then I also have a problem with the term vacuum! The old timers in this club will notice that I use the term Vacuum Cleaner. It's a persomal thing, I have no problem with others who...
