manual or automatic height adjustment for uprights and power nozzles

Manual is better My experience is, that manual height adjustment is better. Note, that I only have experience with Kärcher (Sebo BS36) manual, Miele SEB-217 and Lux automatic powerheads. Smaller Miele and Lux powerheads are only suitable for low to medium pile carpets. On the higher pile...

Converted from Dyson to something else...

Lux Royal D790 I have the older Lux Royal D790 (made in Sweden) and I am very impressed about the build quality, quietness and suction. Compared to my new Electrolux UltraFlex (which is pretty made). Lux is still class of its own. Motor has super smooth tone to the very last rotations when it's...

Electrolux UltraFlex Green thoughts vs Dyson Dc39

I was decided to buy a new bagless canister vacuum cleaner. So after a long search and investigation I finally selected the UltraFlex. Reviews in the Amazon were very positive and when I tried it in the store against the Dyson Dc39 I discovered that Electrolux is for me. Some points why. - it's...

    Shop-Vac and Turbocat combo

using power nozzle with straight suction canister I have done several straight suction canisters to powerhead capable. Here are few examples how I did it:

Custom upright to to canister modification

Kärcher will stay Not really. I am going to put the powerhead section back to it. This was just a experiment. To be honest I don't find canister vacuums convenient with the heavy and bulky powerhead. Kärcher is also in so good shape that I want to keep it that way. I already have the Lux and...

Custom upright to to canister modification

New setup Now I have made my AEG Vampyr 402 to work with the Kärcher powerhead. I just had to use 35mm to 32mm adapter to fit the AEG 35mm handle to the Volta 32mm wand. Kärcher powerhead looks ridiculously oversized, but I don't mind :) I really like the Lux powerhead and naturally I fitted it...

Custom upright to to canister modification

That's a very interesting gluing style! I have to try it out to somewhere where are broken plastic parts. Normally I have just used the liquid super glue and it has hold up nicely, but your method sounds far more durable. You can see in the picture 6 metal band which I used to repair broken part.

Custom upright to to canister modification

So I took the powerhead section of the Kärcher (Sebo BS 36) upright apart from the main unit because there was loose latch (thing that makes the powerhead section attach to the main unit and swing). I repaired it and then I started to think what if... I am big fan of canister vacuums with the...

Electrolux Aeg pulls floor care from SouthAfrica

BrushRoll Clean feature I think they used the same brushroll than in the Electrolux Precision BrushRoll Clean Upright. But this powerhead doesn't seem to have that BrushRoll Clean feature.

Are old vacuums really that dirty?

paper vs fleece bags My experience is that just putting good fleece bag in the old vacuum makes a huge difference. I have done it to all of my vacuums. Of course bag has to have good seal. Otherwise it's pointless. My latest experiment was vacuuming a bit of flour with the paper bag and it...

Electrolux Aeg pulls floor care from SouthAfrica

Few years ago when I had the Electrolux UltraOne it said made in EU. Then there are some low end Electroluxes made in China. I believe that the Lux is still made in Sweden. Current model is Lux Intelligence.

What is with strange off-set on Power Nozzles ?

Swivel vs non swivel I own two powerheads. Miele SEB-217 and Lux ZE3. Lux ph swivels just up and dow compared to the Miele ph which also swivels side to side. I find that the Miele ph is much easier to maneuver, but Lux ph is easier to get under furniture.

orange Electrolux or Volta Z345, 710, etc.,

Here is a French site that shows all Electrolux models from the 60's to this date. Note that Electrolux and Lux separated in the early 90's. http://france-purification.com/index.php?id_product=100133&controller=product And here is youtube channel with a lot of videos of vintage Electrolux/Volta...

orange Electrolux or Volta Z345, 710, etc.,

Good quality Those old Electrolux vacuums made in Sweden are very well made. They just keep working year after year. Note that I only have experience Electroluxes made in Sweden and new models made in EU.

My case is similar. This is what I mean loud powerhead & quiet canister.

What does your Vacuum Store look like?

Well we never had a vacuum stores. Best store to buy a new vacuum is a home appliance store. They actually know their products. But the internet auction sites are where I have bought my latest vacuums. I mean you can get very good deals. For example my Kärcher CV36/2 (SEBO BS36) Upright 40 euros...

What does your Vacuum Store look like?

No vac stores :( Sadly we don't have separate vacuum cleaner stores in the Finland. Plenty of Hifi audio stores, but no vacuum stores. All vacuums what we buy is from the Walmart style stores and from the internet.. Exception is the Lux and Kirby. Those are sold by door to door salesman...
