    I just found a slight error the fan for the E, and S were the same fans as the XXX and XLl. The Auto E on had the same fan.The early fans were 4 1/2" and the newer ones were 5".

    In identifying a cleaner by Serial number in Electrolux I was not privy to how they did it. I just know that the serial # started with The Letter 5 numbers and then another letter. If you went thru the complete alphabet that is 2,599,974 units sold.

    Vacman, there are 4 screws for the upright and 5-6 on the power head depending on the power head. I refer to P/N 5 on up.

    if you read the manual on page 10 it said depending which model you had there was two locations denoted with lines from letter M. Lay the handle down and you might have it under the body. Another model has it in the back.

    an owner's manual is available at aerushome.com. The reset button is if something gets in the brushroll and shuts off the motor to protect the belt. As I recall it is on the back and to the right of the handle.

    The answer is YES , YOU can polish floors with it. You just need the buffing brushes, Green pads and Buffing pads and you are good to go. The instruction manual will help with knowing how to polish the floor. Don't have a manual? You can download one on the Aerushome.com site.

    All steel bodied machines were sold door to door. That means the 1521 was sold door to door. The only cleaners not sold door to door were the Special Edition models and the models they sold in the stores for that short period.

    The first stickers came out on 1205. The salesmen took the stickers off the cleaner and put it on the contract. At least it was done for a few years. Some sales people did it the way they always did and wrote the serial number down.
