Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

The problem with turbo brushes is that they are not all the same inside. Some don't even rotate all that quickly.

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

That's shocking. If the DC17 had a preventive piece of plastic to stop the rubber ring rising up in the first place then clogging wouldn't over flow the cyclones. Did Dyson go and change the user manual in reflection of this?

From straight-suction canister to canister with electric attachments

Since the EU law has come in with silly tests that require uprights to clean up dirt on a hard floor from an impossibly tiny "crevice" on a floor, a few brands such as Vax (TTI) have brought out cheap clip on brush head covers with a thin channel so that suction air is concentrated. I can't say...

    thinking of getting henry

Great news. I think you'll be happy. Yes the Charles wet and dry and George models both take a 15 litre dust bag capacity versus 7 litres on the Henry.

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

Frankly I'd like resistance. Otherwise I'd be in danger of breaking those upright vacs if they had maximum pull! Its all very well showing one of those meters for strongest suction but when it comes to pushing a vacuum like an upright along the floor, I think I would be in fear of the upright...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

Well actually no, there are other variables to take into account with disposable dust bags or bagless - if suction is reduced there's a clog in the system. The first rule of thumb is to check airways which, lets face it average Joe may not do. Collectors are different though - they know what to...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

I am assuming that you machine wash the shake out dust bag regularly? Either way, a pipe cleaner with a piece of cloth on one end pushed through can be achieved as well as near wet wipes. I have used wet wipes before and find them to be great, provided I then push a dry lint cloth through the...

It would still be good to know what fan impeller substance is fitted to the Volt PN though.

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

Very true Bill, but also few owners realise that the hose and dust channels also require regularly wiping out to get rid of clogged oils and general muck stuck . Especially from dog hair!

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

Also, some shake out cloth bags in my experience aren't as thin as disposable fleece/synthetic dust bags so its a no brainer if the shake out bag starts to smell after several months.

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

If the bag smells spare a thought for the rest of the vacuum. Sounds to me like the dust channel needs a good clean out before the dirt hits the bag.

Thank you for confirming the info, Adam! They do look similar but I wanted to know exactly.

From straight-suction canister to canister with electric attachments

I think the Volt is a great idea. However I dont like the idea of it being a dirty fan vac by design when it is cordless. It would make much more sense if it was clean air, thus prolonging battery power when something obstructive might get into the fan. Secondly, it is completely possible to...

    New copycat Dyson cordless

So, can you confirm that the Hoover Freedom stick and the Vax TTI equivalents are different models or are they the same?

From straight-suction canister to canister with electric attachments

If an electric wire has to run through the yellow hose to supply powder to the electric handle and associated "rest of," wouldn't the wire need to be of an expanding type to travel alongside the central vac hose? Also would the wire not require to rewind or revert to its original length when not...

From straight-suction canister to canister with electric attachments

It is not confusing when you realise that not all countries get the same models, moderneezer and in turn when a brand identifies a niche that money can be made when few brands are offering the same. Even if a country like the UK might be slow on the uptake of PN canisters, it didn't stop...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

The thing is, collectors, reviewers, salespeople and owners can continually keep posting videos showing bagged vacs can still go the extra mile with suction but the damage has been done already on the mere promise that bagless eliminates buying dust bags. I think it was Dyson that uttered that...

From straight-suction canister to canister with electric attachments

Also I'm a bit confused with your diagram. Im not sure what the yellow tube is supposed to be though? Is that a central vac extension hose? If so there needs to be sufficient airflow for suction air to travel across.
