    Half the Kirbys...

I can't remember how long ago it was that I had 4 Kirby's. Can't honestly give you an exact number of how many there are in the lineup, but there's no room on the shelf for any more!! Keep up the good kirby searching.

New addition Kenmore Wide Sweep Heavy Duty

Kenmore concept responses As mentioned there were several variations. To the best of my knowledge there was the white "hard bag" model mentioned, which I think was most popular, and there was also a red/black heavy duty model of that and a self propelled model that came in dark gray. In...

What vacuums do you HATE to work on...

The only time I ever had problems taking vacuums apart was when I would neglect to inspect for hidden screws and would swear more in 5 minutes than most people do in their life as to why the cleaner wouldn't come apart. My fault of course for not being more patient and looking more carefully...

    collections...

Custom shelving is how I did it. For more than 40 vacs, large custom osb or plywood sheet-covered shelves are the most cost and space effective. The shelving in my Hoover room cost just under $40 and got 22 vacuums off the floor and displayed nicely. The shelving for my Eurekas in the extras...

How Do You Feel About "Wide-Track" Nozzles?

I just love the stance of 16-18" path vacs, they just look so aggressive! In a residential setting, something like extra wide sanitaire or windsor where the 18" models are "winged" compared to lux or hoover's L nozzle, it does kind of make cleaning in an average home difficult, and no one would...

    Rainbow D3C Separator questions...

scratch what I said about the locking nut separator set-up: I looked into it again and recalled that was introduced on the 2nd D4 model. The style you have is designed with a bevel on the hole of the separator where the acorn should fit snug against when hand-tightened. If the nut is tightened...

    Rainbow D3C Separator questions...

it shouldn't. If it isn't the style with the locking nut, it should remain in place when the acorn is hand-tightened. Looks like you should replace the nut and the separator. good luck on getting those flange screws out if you plan on taking that thing apart further!!

    when storing

On Kirbys I raise the nozzles just because it looks nicer when displayed...those bristles are spinning at 5-12k rpm depending on the vacuum and as already said if years of beating carpets didn't do it, resting on a floor won't either. A good thing to do is give your brushrolls a spin by hand...

    Rainbow D3C Separator questions...

it is possible you have the newest of the D3, that was transitioning into the D4 separator and armature setup. If that is the case, you might have a problem. The original separator, which ran up to the late D3 and then into the D4's, was thin aluminum that was held in place simply by tightening...

The filter fairy waved her wand today

Reminds me of my Isuzu, great car till you have to get parts that have been discontinued by everybody since the early 90's....I bought my 3.1 from a vacuum-flipper for $10 with intentions of reselling it to a client that had expressed interest in a small canister, but they decided otherwise so I...

Eureka The Boss Lite Hard Case model 4333A

broken fan sound sometimes = sound of broken belt. You'd be hard pressed to find a way to break a fan blade on a bypass motor like that one. check the belt first and see how the motor turns by hand, and then look into taking it apart. As much as I like those vacuums, sometimes they aren't worth...
