Donating a vacuum cleaner collection of a lifetime

That's why it's more important than ever that we keep the gems of Detroit soldiering on. I've got an '88 Town Car with 133,000 miles and an '86 Continental 4-door bustleback. They ride beautifully, but getting certain parts is somewhat harder than their Cadillac counterparts from the late '80's.

    Old Hoover Windtunnel VHS Tapes

And was there a video like this once upon a time for the PowerMax? Or the Concept One?

Is THIS Hoover Convertible THAT rare?

It doesn't even have the correct bag. Originally this model had a dust cup with a bag that had a 75th anniversary emblem on it.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hoover-Convertible-75Th-Anniversary-Vintage-Vacuum/124607709929?hash=item1d0332c2e9:g:M8wAAOSwVQhgNLdc

why did Dyson not make a DC09 and DC10?

I would agree EXCEPT.... There was a DC-03 and there was a DC-3 plane, many of the venerable soldiers still flying today....

Never seen a Concept One Like This

I have that model Concept.... A small detail but not unimportant to note somebody swapped out the cordwinder cover with one from the green U3105. That model never had the fleur de lis on the front.

Deluxe Tools for a Dial A Matic

OMG!!! You passed up a G.E. slim upright? I've been trying to find one for years. They are EXTREMELY rare. Did you see this at a thrift store or an antique store?

    Clements/Marilyn

It could well be the - 1941 was the year of production. I have a Packard model 1939 upright and I always wondered if the model indicated the year it was made.

    Air-Way question

So I have an Air-Way question Maybe somebody knows. I have both models with the hinged back wheels (as shown) and the stationary aluminum rear wheel carriage. Which came first? Was there any particular advantage of hinged wheels? Personally I appreciate the uprights so much more than the...

    My pair of 505's

I have an early 505 that my father rescued from the trash back in the mid '80's that does not have the belt lifter. Originally I thought it might be a 2C/3C or 4C but no, it is an early 505, so Charles is correct.

Anyone else surprised by a found vac that becomes a favorite?

Thank you for clarifying that. For me, it happened about 10 years ago. I found a Riccar SupraLite RSL1A at a church rummage sale for $10. It is a dowdy machine, straight handle, foot switch, not even a swivel cord hook but it moves an impressive amount of air and does a nice job grooming the...

Anyone else surprised by a found vac that becomes a favorite?

If I may be so bold, how does a Kirby G5 become a "Johnny Cash Special?"

    Cheap Sanitaire

That's definitely a 5 amp with the smaller fan. A great cleaner for sure.

    NIB Hoover 918

Well true, but that is still no guarantee. Many times I put it a max bid I was SURE would not be outbid, only to get "sniped" anyway. EBay is cutthroat, and no more can you find vintage vacs at a "fair" price. This is surely a rarity, but the only one who will come out a winner is the seller.

    Graybar

Are Stan's Ohios safe in your collection? I love the YouTube video where he demonstrated them. A shame they stopped making uprights right around the Great Depression.

Hoover Onepwr HEPA+ (Oreck Elevate Cordless)

Well what do you know? The minions at TTI have unveiled a Hoovreck! Does it come with a 21 year warranty with free annual tune-ups? Really sad to see this is what has become of the Oreck XL21. I saw a blue Royal not too long ago that was a carbon copy of an Oreck. I think Royal is just...

    Old collection

I'd venture to guess ALL are for sale if (as Bob Barker so eloquently put it) "The Price is Right."

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

Perfect C101 I miss the Perfect C101 all-metal version. It's basically the same as the C103 just hammertone steel. I know they cost a bit more, but they were definitely more solid. Did they not sell well? I actually traded a Silverado to get one.

Can felt be added to bottom of Hoover Constellation ring?

I too like the Slimlines. Years ago, Slimlines seemed to be everywhere, today they seem to be the rarest of the J bag style Hoover canisters. They were Hoover's value priced canister, and with their all steel construction they were definitely solidly built.
