    Bought a Bissell Crosswave

The design itself looks pretty similar to the Hoover, except for the brush roller thing. Has the upper solution reservoir and the lower catch tank with float. I do like the more convenient buttons on the Bissell. Maybe I'll consider one when the spinscrub gives up the ghost! It is nice that it...

    Vacuums at my Goodwill

If I don't need a particular vacuum I find and it is in good working order and the price is right, I often will clean them up and sell them.

Looking for a canister for around $400

I would personally go with any of the Aerus Electrolux canisters. I love the sidekick attachments for cleaning up pet hair on couches, rugs, chairs, etc. Aerus makes quality machines that have great suction and are generally long lasting, provided you take care of them.

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

No arguing here, just friendly discussion :) I think most collectors in general are always going to be more biased about certain branded products. For me, that spills over into other things like cars. Personally, I would likely never buy a foreign car like a Honda or Hyundai, no matter what they...

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

Looks like a fairly light cleaning of floor surfaces only (and stairs). He didn't do the baseboards, ceiling corners, furniture, etc. in those 7 minutes :) Maybe the remaining battery time would allow for that.

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

@honestjoe68 I agree with you, I'm saving my money for the Oreck Pod as well due to it having a "pod" to capture the dirt/debris. Our house is not that big and it will be handy for quick cleaning. I will continue to use my corded bagged models for weekly or so cleanings. The Dyson V10 seems...

Full Presentation of the Dyson V10 Unveiling

Not that I ever base my buying considerations on reviews by Consumer Reports, but they were not initially impressed with the V10. But they do say they will re-test once it hits the market. For now, they do not see it replacing a corded upright vacuum...

    Bought a Bissell Crosswave

What is the white/blue brushroll material on the Bissell? The Hoover Spinscrubs have the 6 revolving brushes, but they are a nylon-like material and they do a pretty good job of scrubbing.

    Vacuums at my Goodwill

Someone else is going to grab that up at that price if you don't!

    Vacuums at my Goodwill

The prolux takes "U" style bags, like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Upright-Style-U-Allergy-Vacuum-Bags-for-Electrolux-Aerus-Prolux-Discovery/371272734320?hash=item5671945670:g:0HUAAOSwJkJWjWfr You can find the bags at any Aerus-Electrolux store. Others probably too. Here are the...

    Dyson DC24 Experiment

Is horsehair stiff enough to effectively clean thicker/wall to wall carpets? I could see on more delicate materials, but not as much on modern day carpets. But perhaps the shortness of the horsehair bristles still do the job compared to the nylon ones.

Life’s Good... brand new Cordless Vacuum coming soon!

You are right. It does indeed look like another Dyson knock-off. They all seem to nowadays. It doesn't look to have any distinguishable characteristics. I haven;t owned many LG items in recent years, other than a cell phone or two. Even those were uninteresting.

    Vacuums at my Goodwill

I have to agree, the only decent machine out of the lot looks to be the Prolux. Did you by change purchase any of the machines at the asking price? $29.99 isn't bad at all for the Electrolux, provided it works :) The rest are pretty much junk.

Well I've done it again (Henry)

@vacfan Perhaps they need to call it the Hetty Wainthropp model! :)

Well I've done it again (Henry)

So, I'm curious about these Henry vacuums. Are these more along the lines of a shop type vacuum? They have a similar shape to those industrial vacuums, being round and kind of squat looking. Also, why do they all have the face on the front? Is this a trademark of some type for these cleaners? It...

    Impulse buy of the year!

I wonder if these accessories will fit your machine: https://www.luxinternational.com/tools-and-accessories/s115-vacuum-cleaner/62 The bags look similar, but not exactly the same.

    Impulse buy of the year!

Looks cool :) I wonder if an Aerus store could assist. They may not, but just a thought as they may have reference to parts. Those aren't "C" bags so I wonder if those will be difficult to source.

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

@vacfan1982 That's a good point. Items like push mowers have started years ago. I was skeptical about even considering buying one for years but when Kobalt came out with a lightweight mulching/bagged push mower with 2 lithium ion batteries that each run about 30 or more minutes (depending on...

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

Interesting. The wave of the future perhaps? Of course, not all manufacturers are going to jump ship and follow suit and I certainly don't see any of the commercial machines going to cordless models (not anytime soon at least).

Best device to clean hair from upholstry

I agree with fan-of-fans. The Electrolux sidekick is great. I use it to clean cat hair from blankets and furniture. Powered tools are nice to have. Which full size machines do you currently use?
