    Church vacuum

The Sanitaires are just as bad with belts, sadly. I had one to clean my church a few years back, and it ate through belts regularly. It was all flat commercial carpeting, and the most I ever got out of a belt was about a month. I was even using the Hoover 48 belts rather than the Eureka RD belts...

Hoover Model 102 Saved from the Junk Pile

I'm in Jackson, not too far from you and I'd love to meet up sometime and visit these shops with you... I never find anything good around here- we have three vac shops in town, but two are run by grouchy old men, and the third, well, I doubt they have anything good hidden away. If you don't mind...

Is this Kenmore Canister worth fixing?

Careful if the motor whines "a little", I had a motor out of a similar Kenmore canister that I transplanted into a shop vac (for dry pickup only) that sounded pretty rough and whined. I used it mainly for vacuuming out cars because it had absolutely fantastic suction... while cleaning out my car...

Cleaning out a Bissell Powerforce Helix

I've just got another one in yesterday to be refurbished and sold. Motor and brushroll are fine, but I don't think the filters were ever cleaned. NASTY! It wouldn't pick up anything when I tried it, but it should be fine once I put it back together later today. All the parts (except the motor...

Cleaning out a Bissell Powerforce Helix

They really aren't bad vacuums when working properly, lightweight, good suction, not too loud, and cheap enough to replace if it croaks. I've had several versions and have only had one that was completely a lost cause and was dumpstered. I don't even know how someone could be that hard on a...

    Mini meet Ashland OH

I'd love to be able to come, it's about 3 hours from here, and would be my first mini meet, but will have to see what the future holds. Maybe if anyone else from Michigan is going I can pick them up or meet somewhere and split the gas?

    Bissell Lift-Off Floors & More Pet 2-in-1 Stick/Hand Vac

I've used the non pet version (It's in my attic currently) It belongs to the summer camp I work at all summer, last summer someone used it and when they emptied it, dumped out the filter, and kept on using it until the motor was clogged full of dust. I brought it home with the intention of...

Name This Bagless Model Hoover Upright..

I'd offer them $40 for the both of them, I see they lowered the price a few thousand $. Now they are asking $60. I had a slightly older Hoover Fusion and really couldn't fault it- never experienced any real loss of suction and did a great job. Too bad it got stolen from my church. Probably the...

Dyson dc07 Carpet- terrible carpet cleaning?

I checked and there is seals on the soleplate, I must have missed them before. I've checked everything I could think of, I'm wondering if this is normal? If so, why do people love dysons? I've used a dc25 that felt the same way, no real deep cleaning going on. The only Dyson that I've used and...

Dyson dc07 Carpet- terrible carpet cleaning?

I don't think there is any seals on the soleplate, and the hose is on correctly. I don't think it's terribly loud though, but it does have excellent suction through the hose.

Dyson dc07 Carpet- terrible carpet cleaning?

I recently got a Dyson dc07 carpet (no clutch system) for parts/repair, as the brushroll had broken literally in half, and the machine STANK! I completely disassembled it, down to the motor, took the cyclone apart, etc. Every part was washed in hot, soapy water. I got it back together, it ran...

    Vacuuming up wasps, bees etc.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever vacuumed a wasp or bee. I don't waste the time to get a vacuum out and plugged in- either I run screaming bloody murder, or if it happens to be sitting on a hard surface, whack it with a shoe. I'm allergic to all the little nasties so I don't mess...

    Eureka Bearing

If your belt burned through, replace the pulley that it rides on- over time they wear away until the belt isn't held at the proper tension anymore. The part is only a couple $ and easy to change.

    Hoover Concept One or Sanitaire?

I'd have to say I prefer a Sanitaire as well; Simple, powerful, no frills machine that can be used as a garbage disposal if necessary. I cleaned my church with a SC684 for about a year and a half, and it couldn't be beat. Loved the 50 foot cord, it was lightweight enough to not be terribly...

    Spots on carpeting

What you have is residue from the Woolite causing resoiling of the carpet- The soap isn't completely rinsing out, causing dirt to stick to those areas. Woolite is nasty stuff. I don't use it. Vinegar and hot water would be an excellent idea- go over it until you can't see any traces of soap or...

I can't believe how people treat their vacuums

I just picked up a 7 year old Kirby Sentria, which I couldn't get to run at all, but had a broken fan, cord hook broken off, bag from a G5, nozzle bent (yes, bent!), bottom plate missing, and no paper bag, the cloth bag was filled completely. Ended up becoming parts to get a G4 running.

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Just the front fan case? Yes I do, it is pretty dirty and tarnished but I will at least clean it up.

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Ok, I have decided the Sentria is a lost cause. I do believe it is going to have a second life as a G4, I can get the parts that I need from the Sentria to get the G4 working. So I think all I need is a G3 emtor (for another project) So sad that a $1000+ vacuum that is only 7 years old is not...

    Kirby Sentria parts needed

Looking to buy some Kirby Sentria parts. I need a complete bag and Emptor assembly, Upper cord hook, screw and spring, and most likely a Brushroll. I do have a G4 that will likely become parts, so if anyone is wanting to trade for anything, I may have it. I also have a G5 bag (bag and topper...
