Eureka Power Team - Model 1514-A

Paul Paul, I wonder if the combo floor tool that came out with the Mighty Mite 3120A in late 1982 first made its debut in '80 or '81? I remember the 3720A still had the older version. ~Ben

    My 1979 Kirby Classic III

Rowdy141 Alan, To be more specific, the F&G bag conversion kit choked off airflow at the point the bag and bag connector meet. As to looking to convert yours, most of us here recommend using the Heritage II Mini Em-Tor setup but adapting the Classic III's bag topper to it. This setup can also...

odavid123 David, I feel your pain. When I first got my D80 in 2014, it took me years to find all the basic tools for it, which I acquired in stages between 2015 and 2017. ~Ben

    Now, I own a Royal

Tylerhawkins84 Tyler, Yes, it's true: the commercial metal uprights did have a three-wire cord (usually 50 feet long, sometimes 35 feet) for OSHA compliance. Royal did that since 1973 with all their metal uprights for commercial use, including my 1987 model 662Z. ~Ben

    Kirby Tradition Fan Removal

VacsofProsper Gabriel, Good luck! I think you need to use Kirby's special fan locking tool, or use an ice pick, in the appropriate spot to hold down the armature while you remove the fan. ~Ben

JustJunque Hi Barry, I have owned four Royal metal uprights since 2012, but this 1987 model 662Z is the first heavy-duty-commercial upright in my collection. ~Ben

    KIRBY VACUUM PERSON

odavid123 David, I agree. Years ago, some people have frowned on me for taking pictures of machines that belonged to them and presenting them here as if they were mine. ~Ben

    Performing a Royal Upgrade

StanL Stan, As I earlier said, you want to use SAE 10W30 grade motor oil. Since you have a 1976 model, there would be only one oil port (there will be a red cap), and that is by the rear wheels. When filling up the wick, make sure you do not overfill it. ~Ben

    Performing a Royal Upgrade

StanL Stan, Please don't give up yet. As I said, the bulb you need is a 120-volt, double-contact, so the 1156 is not right for your machine. The bulb you need would look more like this...

    Performing a Royal Upgrade

hygiene903 Jeff, It was in late 1978 that Royal changed the date code format by placing the letter for the month first (e.g., L78 for November 1978 instead of 78L). Yes, Stan's machine was built in March 1976. It would have had a 3.0 amp motor (it changed to 4.5 amps in September 1980, at...
