User guide Congratulations Matt, great find. My mum had a 610 model for years when I was growing up- as a young kid I managed to rip the hose handle off too and it was replaced with the grey hose from another model- must have been a weak point in the design! Sadly that one is long gone, but...

    Nilfisk GAD 70- recent bargain!

white bags.. Hi Walter, thanks for the tip..I just got 15 regular paper bags for 99p on ebay, but may order some of the white bags to try them too. I went for the cheap option as I often throw away bags after a few weeks or so, even if not really full. Having said that, I use the white...

    Nilfisk GAD 70- recent bargain!

Thanks for all the replies! Al, thank you for confirming the age, I thought it would be around that era. I think the flip over tool is great on hard floors.. tested it with some oats scattered over kitchen tiles and all went straight up, without being pushed ahead of the nozzle. I also have...

    Nilfisk GAD 70- recent bargain!

Hose swivel Thanks Joe :-) Both ends of the hose use a clever ball joint fitting, with the fittings rubberised to seal them airtight. I'm planning to get a replacement hose to use with the cleaner, as this one is a bit rigid and I don't want to damage it. Rob

Main filter- motor removed Few rust marks, but appears to be very effective at retaining dust

    Nilfisk GAD 70- recent bargain!

Hi guys, Wanted to share my latest purchase with you- I know very little about Nilfisks apart from their excellent reputation, and hoping somebody out there can help me answer a few questions..any Nilfisk collectors about?! I presume this is pre 1980. Overall condition is quite good, though...

New from Ebay- Premier Mini 175.....

Hi Seamus, nice buy! I remember first spotting these trailed along behind the cleaners at school, and trying to find out who made them! Always liked commercial vacs, currently using a late 80s Numatic as my cylinder cleaner. Love the retro look of these Premieres, they seem very solidly built...

    Progress 610 (Electrolux 610)

Hi Turbomaster1984 and all, rarely get the chance to post on here, but brilliant find! Thanks for posting pics. My mum had the UK 610 when I was a kid so I'd also love to get my hands on one. Others have mentioned that the build quality of these was quite poor, ours lasted a good 6-7 years...

Jack you can be proud, my first dyson (help) pic

Cyclone disassembly Its a few months since I cleaned mine out, but these are approximate steps on how to do it..take pics as you go along to aid reassembly! Pull off the plastic 'funnel' section from the bottom of cyclone unit- it just friction fits into place. May take a little force. This...

Jack you can be proud, my first dyson (help) pic

DC08 Origin/Allergy? Hi Edgar, Jack will be able to tell you more, but if Dyson used the same colour schemes in Belgium as in the UK this is one of the later DC08's. Possibly has a replacement cyclone unit as the buttons are yellow and don't match the trim on the cleaner and floortool. In...

    Sebo K1 Komfort help!

Hello all! Just yesterday I acquired a Sebo K1 Komfort canister out of a skip/dumpster. It's certainly had a hard life and plenty of use, but the motor runs very quietly and smoothly..after a clean up I decided it would be ideal for taking along to my next student house. Have just run into one...

Some help with a Miele please

Edgar, thanks for the extra information, my own knowledge of these is rather limited! How long was this series in production for, would it be into the early 80s? I agree Jack, love the clean, boxy look of it- no organic curves here! Somebody must have loved Al's model over the years...

Some help with a Miele please

Hi Al, love these older Miele's! Was this produced for the British market or imported from elsewhere in Europe? I have a copy of the user guide for this series(in German) as a pdf file..frustratingly it does not mention how the hose attaches- merely as you say to remove it first in order to...

    Late 80's Numatic

Hi guys, thanks Chris! Yeah this is an 800w model, the most reliable motor they used in Henrys I believe. It has slightly less suction than my newer Henry (1200w motor)- still powerful. As you probably know, these cleaners pick up almost anything..have lost a duster before now cleaning it with...

    Late 80's Numatic

With tools.. The complete cleaner, with stainless steel tubes and original floortool. Numatic cleaners are popular throughout the UK for being simple, tough, effective machines. The design of this model (identical to the most popular Henry model) has changed very little overall since its...
