    Kenmore cyclonic

When I read your first response, I thought, oh no, that can't be right because the bagless monstrosity definitely preceded the Aptitude :o)

    Eureka Express update photos!

How did you get it to work? It looks like the belt on the first one is off to the side and the second one is a center belt? I'm so confused!

    Kenmore troubles

You don't have to take the hose off to check for a clog... just hold the hose as straight as you can and stick a broom handle (starting from the suction end) all the way through until it comes out the hole in the bag chamber... you should be able to feel for a clog and dislodge it if there is one.

I rate this vacuum 2 stars

I can certainly understand how that would be frustrating! One thing I don't like is the triagular shaped dusting brush, it just doesn't get close enough to the edges... round would be much better. I got mad at my Sebo tonight too (actually a Windsor Sensor S12, but still Sebo)... I spent the...

    New Hoover SteamVac Model

I think it looks dreadful, but I wonder how it performs compared to the classic spin scrub models...

    Kenmore troubles

I have the same one and it makes a similar noise, but the motor sounds fine... I think it is the hose reeling from the suction as it only does it when I first turn it on and first turn it off... is that the same with yours, or is it constant?

    Hoover Platinum Lightweight upright

I bought mine for 45, used on Craig's List... Upright only, no companion canister. I LOVE it and smile every time I use it... seriously, I want to give it a hug each time. Motor sound is beautiful and it has great agitation... super power and very nimble. It blows most Orecks out of the...

    Gotta Love the Hoover W2

I echo what Dustin said... My Hoover Z 700 has the same set up, and 6 screws have to be taken off every time to clean the stupid filter... if you don't do it, the already abysmal airflow becomes virtually non-existent. The agitation is wonderful, but I got it because it was a unique, niche...

    Kenmore cyclonic

I sold those in 2001/2... well, didn't sell them actually, because NOBODY bought them. The dirt cup fell out, the hose dangled on the floor, the attachments didn't stay on, and I personally thought it was ugly. Cheap, cheap cheap! Not to mention, a it was a heavy beast. The handle release...

A quick look at the Electrolux UltraSilencer EL6984a - with PICS

I've seen a few videos of that on Youtube, and they do seem cool... thanks for sharing here. I still one one of the bigger ones with a power nozzle, but would never pay what they ask new for one.... I think that's a perfect machine for a situation like you have with no carpets.

    thrift store finds/sightings...

Just an update... I bought and downloaded the service manual and it included the instruction manual because I couldn't find it for free anywhere. I called Sharp and they didn't have it available. The copyright is 2001, so that's about what I expected. The manual said "This is a new type of...

    thrift store finds/sightings...

Close up of dirt... this came from a 1 bedroom apartment that was just vacuumed with a Sebo Sensor S12 the night before... I do have a cat, so some of that is cat hair and litter, but a lot of it is just dirt and dust. Most of the carpet is thin flat short pile, which is what this vacuum was...

Another thing I forgot to mention that bothers me is that I can't find a way to get into the exhaust filter to change or clean it... Underside of the nozzle...

Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't take a ton of pictures and give a detailed opinion, so proceed with caution if you dare :o) If vacuums had a motto, this one would say, "Don't be fooled my my pretty purple plastic, I'm a bad a-- little dude with a serious attitude!" First, I had to...

    thrift store finds/sightings...

Rob, the upright you are talking about was called the Kenmore E4, and it was made by Bissell for Sears in the early 2000s... I sold them, but they don't last long because the whole point of a vacuum like that is that it can go flat and that one couldn't because of the bag saver. I liked it...

    thrift store finds/sightings...

I went to a Catholic thrift store that I don't get a chance to go to very often... I never see decent vacuums at thrift stores, but this was the one that I got my Kenmore Direct Drive from, so I had a glimmer of hope. I was shocked at their selection... Mostly vintage Hoovers... a...
