    I can't quite remember...

I haven't any pictures to post, but I do know which model you are referring to. Its color scheme was Pumpkin Orange and Taupe, similar to the Dial-A-Matic 1120 (which was.the Convertible in the UK.)

Question about a Hoover Vacuum model 28

A most elegant cleaner And a stellar example of the streamlining trend of 1940s industrial design. Years ago, I remember seeing one used as a commercial cleaner in one of the stores in a shopping mall near my home. What I found particularly striking were the decorative gold bands on both sides...

    Convertible finds

The 589 and the U4369 were both recommended by Consumer Reports-the 589 in 1971, and the U4369 in 1986.

    1970s/1980s Eureka color names

Has anyone seen the 1976 Eureka upright brochures that were.available.for.download on AutomaticWasher.com? If so, did they list.any color.names? I tried to download.them, but for some reason, I was unable to read them on my smart phone.

    1970s/1980s Eureka color names

I'd love to see those! Both Eureka and Hoover had such stunning color palettes during the 70s and 80s, and I just love the inventive names both companies came up with for them!

    1970s/1980s Eureka color names

Big bad orange Was that a color name that actually appeared on a spec sheet? I do remember seeing a Eureka Christmas ad from the late 1970s featuring an upright that was mostly white with Orange trim.

    1970s/1980s Eureka color names

Is anybody familiar with the names of the colors used on Eureka vacuum cleaners made during the 1970s and 1980s? I know two of them were wild moss green and Queen Anne gold, but what about some of the other models, such as the 1424 (red) or the 1428 (blue)?

Are Bag Check Indicators To Be Trusted?

Jeff Foxworthy said it best; "If you think the six to ten pounds rating.on the side of the diaper.box indicates how much the diaper will hold, you might be a redneck."

Are Bag Check Indicators To Be Trusted?

While I am with the rest of you, checking the bag for myself regularly and replacing it when it is no more than two-thirds full, the full bag indicator does have one virtue-it can warn the user in a timely manner when a sudden blockage forms in the hose, wands or nozzle, which.can also.curtail...

Today's Driver, everyone post their vacuum of the day!

Great minds think alike! I also have that same model, the Hoover C1631, with the 4-brush carpet groomer agitator. Ten years old and still going strong!

    Eureka Slogans Through the Years

Eureka's 1940s slogan "Eureka. Precision engineered from the woman's point of view." This slogan may well be regarded as sexist by today's standards.

    Eureka Rally Canisters

The Eureka Rally Has its roots in the Eureka Express.canister, which was introduced in 1984 as competition for the Hoover Dimension canister. The Express had Eureka's Vibra-groomer III agitator (basically the same 4-brush, 4 beater bar arrangement as Hoover's Quadraflex agitator), electronic...

    Awful, Bionaire steam mop!

Danemodsandy; Steam mops are a useful alternative for people who find the traditional mop-and-bucket floor.cleaning method inconvenient, or for people who are hypersensitive to traditional cleaning chemicals, such as bleach, which may actually make them physically ill. Steam mops are often more...

Top of the Line Eureka Golden box top

Very nice Eureka! Between the styling of the Chrome-plated housing, the color and the tapestry pattern on the bag, that is one classy cleaner! Hoover did make at least one box-top style Convertible for Penneys, in Rust Brown and Oyster White, as well as one for Western Auto Supply stores, in...

    A *Special* Hoover find!

Congratulations! You were fortunate indeed to find a Hoover 700 in such remarkably good shape. That agitator looks as if it hasn't seen a day's use! Glad to hear you also grabbed that U4523, which I believe was one of the first Hoover Convertibles carried by Sears' Brand Central appliance...

    My new vintage hoover

The Original bag On the model 375 was actually deep.gray with a wide black band at.the center, in which.the words, "The Hoover, It Beats As It Sweeps As It Cleans" appeared, very much like the original bags on the American models 150 and 25.

    Got another Hoover today

Very nice! I have the same model. That is the U4349, finished in Jamaican Blue and Oyster White. Like all Hoover Convertibles, it is a powerful, reliable, yet very stylish machine. I particularly love the pattern on the outer bag. That model is definitely a keeper! Here is a picture of mine...

    The original Hoover Elite upright

With the earlier Elites, with the pan-style converter which snapped on to the bottom front of the cleaner, the suction was rather low-as it was with most direct-air uprights of the time, which used basically the same conversion setup. However, despite the low suction, the Early Elites still.did...
