New Member ,my old Kenmore 😁

I like the idea of having mixed colored displays of vacuums. There are a couple new vacuums that I like, one of my favorites is the "patriot" made in Huntington Beach California. It uses the Sebo power nozzle. My favorite part about the new one is the amazing shade of purple they chose. And two...

Very nice and rare machine. Congratulations. I love mine. Do you have any of the correct bags? The filter over the motor can be vacuumed clean but do not wash it. I can give you suggestions on what bags to buy currently that will fit. I'm going to assume that yours does not have the automatic...

Those vintage Kenmore's from the 50s, called "KenKarts", are my very favorites.

    Would sellers consider this weird/unreasonable?

When I still operated my vacuum shop, I had so many empty boxes from all the vacuums we ordered and sold. I always shipped in one of those boxes. I remember sending a Hoover to someone in a Riccar box, the kid was so excited because he thought his mother bought him a Riccar. Turns out it was the...

bags, filters, wands, hoses, attachments, etc and more going OUT.Final Warning!!

Hoping for good luck for you with all of that. I did it in June. Got rid of virtually the entire museum, and hired a big rollaway dumpster for all the parts. The only things I have left are a few repair parts for the machines I've kept in my collection. Those machines will have to carry me...

    FS Dreyfuss hoover model 150

Hey Jeff, the 150 was not the first Dreyfus designed Hoover. The 800 was. Just an FYI.

Confirmed that Aerus still builds vacuums in Bristol Virginia

Many people who were part of the vacuum cleaner collectors club, where our club went to the Electrolux factory, more than likely still have a copy of the DVD. The original was shot on many videotapes and edited down to a one and 1/2 hour DVD. I wonder if it would be possible to put the entire...

Confirmed that Aerus still builds vacuums in Bristol Virginia

I was just watching very recently the DVD that the vacuum club made on our visit to the Electrolux factory in Bristol. They were extremely welcoming, we had a great time, and I talked to them out of a very unique Electrolux for the club. They served us lunch and were exceptional hosts. We got to...

    Those are some nice machines.

    Hoover model 62

They came in packages of four bags per package. What would be a good price on eBay for a package of these bags? Now that I've retired, I've had time to look through my entire collection and have discovered that I have many many boxes of vintage obsolete disposable bags, including at least 25...

    Vacuum collection pictures?

I sold and repaired vacuum cleaners for almost 50 years. Not really interested in the new stuff anymore when we have such great vintage machines. My vacuums live in their own room, which I call "the vacuum room". They are nowhere else around my house because I never wanted anyone to come over to...

    Filter queen 200 find

Unless it is a model 200, the air comes out underneath the switch pedal in a strong stream, and through the foam silence ring in a much less strong stream. I've been collecting filter queens for 50 years now, one of my favorite machines with the exception of emptying it. But hey, that's what the...

    Filter queen 200 find

The first filter queen model 200 was made by Royal in 1939. They made them in 39, 40, and 41. Like all Royals, the date Stamp is on the stacking of the armature. Interesting about consumer research, and the fact that the filter queen had a radio noise suppressor like many other vacuums of its...

The Kenmore "commander" rocket style tank cleaner would have looked perfect cleaning the Batcave.

    Filter queen 200 find

That is the pre-World War II version of the model 200. They only made them for three years before the war. All of the pre-war serial numbers that I've seen are five digits or less. They probably didn't make more than 60,000 of them before the war.

    Want to buy

The power nozzle had to have been added after the machine was originally sold. In 1958, Electrolux began to make the Cord winder shown in my photo. The rubber bumpers were added to the front door that year as well. The power nozzle did not launch until the middle of 1959. Most Electrolux sales...

    Vacuum FIltration Poll

I very rarely use my central vacuum. Really, just for the lint from the dryer and to suck up the flour all over the counter after I've rolled out biscuits. Otherwise, I feel like a servant when I'm using it. Just like in the old ads. I've mentioned before that, like my mentor and the first...
