    Hoover Decade 80

Picked up this machine today, and it works greaaat! Finally another REAL Hoover in the house. I also had the option of getting a red Hoover Convertible (Ranger style), and I think I might go back and get it also. I actually really like this vac, although I wish it took bags instead of the dirt...

Are there any advantages to round belts ?

I have to agree. My Kirby Heritage II's belt lasted way longer that my Eureka round belts, and I use them both everyday. Im not sure why this happens, but the Kirby's belt seems to last longer :S Daniel :-)

Okay thanks! Was it hard to do? I found the instructions for it on my computer because I saved it when Dave wrote about it on the Vintage Forum. Also, how long did it take approximately for you to do this? Thanks again! Daniel :-)

Wouldn't that be interesting, a forum about beds lol, that could get pretty pricey, let alone how big they are, it would be hard to find a place for them! LOL. And John, Id love to get my hands on a convertible one day! My funds aren't running very high lately however, so I will have to wait a...

    Electrolux Model G?

To me it looks like this Model E that is currently posted on Ebay, perhaps with a Model G model plate/metal ring around the bag chamber. Maybe this could've happened when it was rebuilt. Just my thoughts, Daniel :-)

Electrolux XXX that i baught off ebay

Does the new bag have a rubber ring that wraps around the metal lip on the bag? If not, that would be why it is not sealing. If not, and if you still have the old bag with the rubber ring around it, you could take the rubber part off of the old bag, and slide it on to the new bag. Keep us...

Im assuming John said that the machine has been under a lot of beds because the paint is worn right off of the face of the handle, probably from scraping on old bed frames. Just what I got out of it... Daniel :-)

Electrolux XXX that i baught off ebay

Nice!! I bought mine on ebay too, and with a little work, they can look as good as brand new! I also second the point that this vac is one that every collector should own. They are such quiet and awesome machines. Heres a picture of mine. Happy Vacuuming! Daniel :-)

    Silver Knight (Looking for info)

I stopped in to my local vac shop the other day, and managed to get a couple pictures of this. The owner of the store has two identical ones with original everything, even paperwork, with the exception of a replacement hose. I am trying to help him, as well as myself out by finding as much...

Fairfax model I have never seen before. What is it?

This is definitely not a fairfax. This is a commercial shop vac unit from I believe the late 80's? (Correct me if I am wrong on the date). I have one of these, only with a larger stainless tank, and it is really beat up. It got loaned to a couple people and just got wrecked over the years. If...
