    Issue with Hoover Convertible 70

For some reason on this vac I am unable to roll it on the two back wheels going forward. It is as if the wheels push down and then the base drags on the floor. Is there something I can adjust? Thanks.

    Who makes the better cannister?

Simplicity/Riccar or Sebo (or something else)? I currently have the Simplicity S24 and while it has excellent suction, the powerhead has given me several problems. Thinking of switching to a Sebo. Any advice?

    Replacement brushroll bristles

I just bought these bristles for my Convertible model 70. They slide in just fine but the ends stick out too far. Had to take a hacksaw after them. They seem to be working fine and much better than the aftermarket brushroll I bought on ebay that has two rows of brushes and no beater bar...

    Looking for Convertible 70 parts

Hi All. I am loving my new 70 so much that now I feel like I I want to get serious about making it look how it should. If any of you have a 70 that you are parting out, or know where I can find parts, I would love to find a hood and outer bag for this beauty. I am not having any luck on ebay...

    Convertible snagging rugs

No, the replacement has two rows of brushes instead of the beater bar. I have put the original brushroll on but I am not sure that it is doing any better.

    Convertible snagging rugs

I have been using the high setting almost exclusively because it has a brand new brushroll and with this generic belt it will slip on low. I have genuine Hoover belts on order because I could not locate any locally. If anybody has a blue hood or bag for a 70 that they are interested in selling...

    Convertible snagging rugs

Another thing this vac has going for it... I absolutely love how low the nozzle is on these old convertibles. I am getting spots that my $600 Simplicity could never reach.

    Convertible snagging rugs

I am loving the model 70 I recently picked up on ebay but I am having one problem with it. It will severely snag rugs with anything greater than a very low pile. I am trying to be as gentle as possible when I run over them. I can't seem to determine where it is catching. Anybody have any...

Just bought my first vintage vac

I am not too concerned with the ascetics of the vacuum because I actually intend to use this machine. I did grease the lower bearing and clean under the fan (thanks to Hoover 1060 for posting that procedure). I figured that the bag had been replaced because it doesn't look very tidy at the...

Just bought my first vintage vac

I just bought this Hoover Convertible model 70 on eBay and am trying to date it. What is the best way to determine that manufacture date? It has an all metal base and the real metal Hoover insignia. This sucker is solid! I am having an issue that I would appreciate some help with though. It...
