that machine looks like beast! pardon me for asking, but does it seem overdone to anyone else? is there still seperate non electric wands/hose? and would you mind posting a picture of it all set up in normal cleaning mode?

Eureka model 1680 A (easy to to find model plate- one reason why eureka is better than hoover ;) )
good condition, plug replaced, and the only tools i have are the straight wands, crevice tool, vibra beat, and hose.

Hoover Celebrity 2 (where the heck does hoover put their model plates omg?!)- great condition and has manual, but the power nozzle has the wrong belt in it so thatll need to be changed

my tradition is stuck on hi speed, which i learned like 2 months after i got it. it is hard to push, but hasnt burned up yet (i havent used it since i learned), and does an awesome job!

Mr. Fred- would you mind telling me the model of your power converter and were i may purchase one, if not other recomendations? i have a dc05 that i really want to use, and there have been a lot of european vacs on craigslist lately that i would love to get but dont want to...
most people around here store their vacuums in their pantry or mudroom or something but i see a lot of the self-propelled windtunnels and a lot of dysons. Less popular but also fairly common are mieles and orecks, Thankfully not to many bissels and dirtdevils in my neighborhood :)
i agree go with the linx if you can afford it, but though there are bad reviews i have both the ergorapido ultra+ and the ergorapido ion and i would highly recommend them as long as you clean the filter every few heavy uses (i just vacuum it off every week or so). i have the ulra+ for a couple...

the neato looks like a piece of junk but...
i know the roomba has its pro's. my grandparents have the scheduler (discovery style but blue) and the new 562 and the work great as a daily sweeper. It just cleans up the surface dirt while they are at work, and then their cleaner comes once a week...

i have a DAM powerdrive that is tan and brown that ive been wanting to sell- put on cl and it didnt sell but havent tried ebay. it doesnt have the tools but its in really good shape if you are interested
seems like a patent infringement to the filter queen company, but there is just a regular cartrige filter behind the cone so it seems like it would still clog really fast
