    flea market find :o)

If that machine (like most red Sanitaires) has the bag with the white coating on the inside, you will want to avoid washing it. The white coating is what holds back most of the dirt, and it holds up poorly when washed.

L@@K Someone is selling one like mine. Notice the bag is the same. I replaced the bumper on mine. I prefer the wide ones...

    Eureka Vanguard 1973

I checked both my '70 and '74 Eurekas and the serial number doesnt seem to correlate with the year of manufacture. Look for this mark in the casting and see what is there. Mine says 8-4-70. This model 2055 has a Vibra Groomer I and it looks very original. Pete and Jeff also have some pre-74...

    new very old eureka vacuum??

The Vibra Groomer I is on top. the Vibra Groomer II in on bottom. If yours has read plastic beater bars, its wooden.

    Portapower Alert!

On eBay. Hoover's best kept secret for over 35 years. Great for bare floors, great for the car. No worries about tiny disposable bags since this uses a shakeout bag. Better than Oreck Buster-B and the price is right...

    Hows a Hoover Elite II

The Elite is an excellent carpet cleaner, but the later models (over 6amp) are too noisy. The tool suction is not as good as Kirby, but it will clean carpet as well if not better than Kirby.

    My new kirby 518

My advice... Don't wash the bag. Put that bag in a washing machine and you WILL be sorry!

    Another "Heavy Duty" addition

Seamus! Plug it in and clean! You may sub a bag from another Hoover, so as to preserve the new one.

    Plain Jane Eureka #1452

Brandon, that is an all-metal C2065. Commercial machine from 1974. I too wonder if its a replacement bag. Note that this must be one of the last 1400 Eurekas with a metal handle. This machine is from 85 and seems almost immediately afterwards all the 1400 models had plastic handles. The outer...

Glamour Pose. Wonder how long it will take for me to tire of it. All that white! Show of hands: Would YOU have brought this home, or let it languish at "Thrift Town"? Thanks for watching!

    Plain Jane Eureka #1452

4 AMPS Manufactured: 1985 Sleeve-bearing Vibra-Groomer II with new sweeping brushes installed. Agitator lubricated. (notice coating of dust on disturbulator from my testing it out afterward)

    Plain Jane Eureka #1452

All day yesterday I could not get this machine off my mind! I'm not supposed to like 1400 Eurekas! Must be something about those F&G bags...

    Plain Jane Eureka #1452

First spotted two days ago. I could not rationalize bringing home a blender-motor, boring-looking machine at that time. It runs soooth and quiet. I actually walked around the store with it for about ten minutes. Striking hood color, IMO.

TV Trivia: Name three vacs that appeared on "Friends"

Did it suck the water in, Phillip? Ya know, Nell Carter did the same thing on the during the Gimmie a Break opening titles.

    A Floater with Power?!

That is true, Pete. Looking back over "the scans" i see at least two Air-Ride models with the Powermatic feature, and both of these have the cord mounted on the hose externally.

    Smaller... Check.

Maybe the new Dyson uprights will change the perception that Dyson is poor at carpet cleaning. There is a legend about a VCCC meeting years ago where a Hoover Concept extracted quite a quantity of dirt out of a test carpet that had been cleaned by a Dyson. DC07, i think. I used a DC07 in a...

Hoover Constellation Revival in the '80s?

Hmm, a lot of people were still using their original Constellations in 1983. They continued into the 70s as a BOL model, i think.
