Yesterday evening while my Boyfriend was at the eye doctor, I decided that i would go over to the "junk" shop and see if they had anything "new" LOL, So i found another Electrolux, My aunt had one just exactly like it when i was growing up, it was just the canaster, i had the P/N and hose off...

it was about 70 bucks.

Mystery solved so i went and got my electric tester, power is going all the way to the motor, so i took the power head motor out, took it apart and one of the brushes was burnt, well it was completly gone! so i ordered a new motor, and a bunch of other things ive been needing to get!

My bosses asked me today to take a look at their thermax vac "it wasnt working" so i went to thier house and got the machine and brought it out to my office to see if i could figure out what was wrong, the vacumm it self comes on fine, but the power head does not come on, i pluged it in directly...

I have a G-5 that i am considering sending to kirby for the rebuild program, I called them today and they told me that it could be done for anywere from 175 to 225, plus shipping, the vacuum is is good condition, and cleans great, i only use it for a fast pick up, when i dont feel like seting up...

my brother sold electrolux vacuum cleaners in the late 80's early 90's if. i remember correctly, he told me that they still were servicing and making parts for XXX and newer machines when he worked for them. im sure that they have quit by now... does anyone know this to be true?

that was the problem... i was driving home and it hit me to check the motor seal... guess what, its gone, just ordered one, she'll be good as new i think when it comes in! thanks bill!

I bought a rainbow d4se at a garage sale the other day... i finally got to plug it in to see if it worked today.. the motor runs good, but has very poor suction? pan isnt cracked... seperator is clean... any advise?

i will check when i get home, i picked up a g-4 about a year ago and when i got it home i didnt run, so i took it apart and it looked like the motor had caught fire.... but i still have all the parts... let me check to see if the emptor was any good, i cant remeber if it was that machine or...

Great machine I got a SE last year, and it is my "everyday" vacuum. I love mine, does a excelent job, I did get to see a new one last month, and as soon as i get this house built i am getting one. Does anyone know how the SE and new E compare?
